Glasses or softlenses?

I prefer to use glasses than softlenses. I have problems using the softlenses because it dries out my eyes and no matter how many times I try to keep them wet, they always easily get dry once they get dry. Anyone has the same problem? So I usually use my softlenses only in special occasions like party, etc. That's why I prefer to use glasses daily even at work. They are more easier to take care and not harmful. I bought a stylish one so that it won't make me look like a nerd when I put it on.

I have been wearing glasses for a long time. I did try before wearing contact lenses but then my eyes got irritated with it. And I believe, that prolong use of contact lenses would somehow scratch the surface of our eyes and it is dangerous. There are a lot of stylish eyeglasses we could use to make us attractive and less a bit of a nerd.

Agreed, that's why you have to be super careful with contacts. Always wash your hands and make sure the contacts are clean and stuff. Honestly, it's very annoying sometimes.

I only wear glasses because trying to put anything in my eyes is not pausible for me. I wish I could wear contacts. Thankfully I only have to wear glasses when I'm driving or watching TV or at the movies.

Hi, thanks for sharing. I think your eyes problem are not so serious so you can still do everything without your glasses.

I prefer contact lens than glasses. One reason is that glasses don't look good on me. My glasses are the rimless ones which looks just okay on me. I use this only when I am at home or when I am on the airplane. My contact lens are excellent. They don't dry easily. I wear them everyday for around eleven hours. I don't use those lubricants to wet the lens anymore. Contact lens for me are really convenient. I usually get the contacts good for one year.

Hi. Thanks for sharing. Can you share the information of your contacts' brand? Maybe I can buy it to try for my contacts usage.

If by softlenses you mean contacts, then I prefer contacts. Reason being is that contacts provide and less noticeable look and I dislike glasses. The bad part about contacts is they do dry out your eyes and they can get very annoying. They can also irritate your eye and after a while it will begin to irritate you. Overall contacts are better, though even if they are harder to put on.

Maybe it can make us look better but since the facts like you mentioned that it can cause irritation, I still prefer to use glasses. I'm just worry about my sight. Because we doesn't know how much our eyes can take of an irritation, I don't want to harm my eyes by using to much contacts. Thanks for sharing.

I prefer soft lenses I don't know I just don't feel that glasses fit me or I just haven't found any frames that fit me yet but I really love the whole contact thing though.

My brother just told me that his friend said that contacts can leave marks on your eyes. I'm grateful that you have no problem with contacts so far. But I think you should have one glasses. There are many options of glasses that can make you look better than like a nerd LOL! Thanks for sharing.

Hello! I use soft contacts and I've been using if for about 20 years. I am thinking about getting a pair of glasses soon though, because I am having a same problem as you had, soft contacts dries out my eyes and I have to carry an eye drops to everywhere!!! I use them in a right way, I don't overuse and treat it well but simply my eyes gets too dry. My fiance had eye surgery about 7 years ago and so far so good, he asked me if I consider of getting it too, I can't say I do at this point because I am not sure if it is really safe or good for my eyes. I will probably research more about it but before that, I seriously need to get a glasses!

My sister in law also wants to have eye surgery for both her eyes. She had -9 and -10 eye sight. She really wished to reduce it but I don't how it is going to be. Right now she's abroad to get second opinion from other doctors. It's annoying when it dries out so quickly and we have to wet them with eye drops every some time. I think glasses are the best. For a better look we can use glasses that can turn darker like sunglasses if necessary. I'm thinking to have new lenses like that for my glasses but they are just very expensive. Thanks for sharing.

I used to wear contact lenses for everyday use, however, when I got several eye infections one after the other, I opted for glasses. They are very comfortable and practical. I still use contact lenses but only during the weekend. I was thinking of buying a new pair of glasses for Summer too.

Hi . . . I'm thinking about having a new pair of glasses too. There's a discount promo from my regular shop where I have a member card there. Glasses could be very stylish too. I really use contacts only for formal parties or any occasions that would need me not to wear my glasses. LOL! Thanks for sharing.

I prefer glasses anytime mostly when im reading or watching television. And contact lenses only when i go out. I don't have any problems with lenses though coz i use disposable ones which is one time use only.

I also think that disposable contacts are the safest. But they are expensive. Thanks for sharing.

I got both, too. I know how annoying contacts can be! Especially during May and June. That's where my hay fever always starts. I really, really hate it. When my eyes start to itch, it's so uncomfortable to be wearing contacts. Last year, I lost so many contacts because of that stupid hay fever. So during that time I love wearing my glasses, cuz it's so comfortable. Most of the times, I prefer my contacts over my glasses because I can't wear my glasses when I work out for instance. But like I said before, sometimes they are extremely annoying. I also have the problem that my eyes dry out when I've worn them the entire day. And they break so easily, too.

Hi flyhun. Thanks for sharing. I never heard that contacts can break easily before but now I know. I completely agree that glasses are far much better than contacts.

LOL!!! It's a very big problem to me when I forgot to take off my contacts before a nap or sleep. It becomes very dry when I open my eyes. In this point, contacts is time consuming. I can't just jump into bed whenever I want to because I have to take it off first before go to bed. Thanks for sharing.

I am using glasses and no lenses. Actually, I am using glasses since the time I was 12. Never tried my hands on lenses just because I feared it would hurt my eyes when I try to stick it up on retina, as I was told by my friends then. And after reading that eyes become dry because of lenses I would prefer to stay with my glasses on. Lol

LOL! My eyes are -2. And I think this is light. If Lasik surgery can normalize my sight I'd love to have it but not now. I'm quite comfortable with my glasses. Thanks for sharing.

I wear both glasses and contacts, interchangably. Usually glasses, though, because contacts usually just irritate my eyes and give me headaches. It's kind of annoying. I agree with you, I usually only use my contacts (or "softlenses" as you called them) on special occasions where I'd rather not deal with the hassle of having to wear glasses.

I think people wear contacts just because it gives people a clearer look at our faces because sometimes glasses could be a disguise. Or maybe because it is neater (?)that people doesn't have to worry when they have to bend forward the glasses will fall? Thanks for sharing.

I prefer to wear glasses than softlenses it is because softlenses like contact lenses gives you more restrictions than contact lenses. Like for example, you are not allowed to do this or nearby to an object that can damage on the medium. I remembered one of my co office worker last year in a call center company here in the Philippines. That was during our mid shift when her contact lenses were torn into half on her left eye. We tried to remove it by but all means like to make her tears come out so that it would come out. Her eyes were already that red. The half of it was removed but the other was stuck and the worst was it was later slid on her upper cornea. Thank God the other half was removed in one of the nearby hospital in our office and the doctor told up that he we came late to bring her, she could have lost her left sight.

Thank God she was OK. It appeared to happen to me sometimes when the contacts were slid in my eyes. It's annoying anyway. But I never thought that it could be that worst. I should really be careful with mine. Thanks for sharing.
