The last time I went on vacation (besides going home to see my family) was in Gatlinburg, TN. Actually, my husband and I drove around the entire state of Tennessee, went to see the Kenny Chesney concert in Nashville, and spent a few days in Gatlinburg. I really loved it there. We had so much fun! I would love to go back. I thought TN was gorgeous. I would really like to live there.

I have just returned from Maine on Saturday night. It was a bus trip and very convenient, because they do all the planning, most meals and touring are included, and you can sit in the back of the bus with your feet up and take a nap! New England is very pretty...I highly recommend it. Maine is quiet and beautiful! We saw so many lighthouses and towns along the coast. The only bad thing was that it rained just about every day and it was cold! I recommend July as a good month to go. But we still had a good time and a great experience! Have fun!!

In January of this year I took my toddler son to South Africa. It was a 12 hour flight from our home country. We spent a couple of weeks exploring Cape Town and the Garden Route. It was summer time so the weather was really warm and sunny. I really enjoyed visiting Camp Cove, Scratch Patch with lots of crystals, penguins at Boulder's Beach and the botanical gardens. We went on a two and a half hour safari. On it we saw lions, zebras, hippos and giraffes. I would recommend that part of South Africa because it makes a very enjoyable trip for people of all ages.

We went to San Antonio, TX to visit my sister. We went at the end of December and it was amazing to be in Summer like weather in the middle of winter. We had a great time. Down Town San Antonio was a lot of fun. I do recommend it, there are a lot of neat things to do there. However we visited once in the Summer and it was way too hot, but I would recommend it any time but the summer time.

I went to Seattle recently. I loved the weather..it was sunny and cool. No rain! Since I live in Texas (it was very hot here), it as a nice break. I dreaded coming back because of that. I went to downtown Seattle with my mom and sister and we loved just walking around and going through some of the shops. Last weekend I went to Austin for about a day and visited the state capital building, saw a movie at the original Alamo Drafthouse and went to some very interesting stores on Congress Avenue.

Vacation? Let me think....about 11 years ago when I had a hubby we rented a car, drove to Wichita (about 45 miles away), stayed in a motel, took the kids to the dog races that evening and the next day to the zoo. I can't afford a car that is highway worthy let alone afford to take the kids anywhere. The last several years our vacation consists of a week of family camp at the Kansas Bible Camp (8 miles from our house). They don't have a charge for going to the camp...the accept donations if you have them and have a canteen. Marsha

Hi thedaddym, last year I was in Asia as usual and visited Bali for the fourth time and I would not recommend it. It has changed so much since my first visit 10 years ago. I was also in West Papua and Vietnam which were both fantastic. I have just finalised my plans for this year and will be going to Beijing, Laos and Thailand in October.
