Could Sarah Palin be booting David Lettermans career?

Letterman did not court last week's battle with Palin, who called him "perverted" for making a joke about her daughter getting "knocked up" by New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez, and he said in retrospect the remark was in poor taste.
This whole thing seems to have taken on a life of it's own. What do you think?

I think she gave him a ratings boost, yes. I think more people tuned in to Letterman's show just to see if he would say anything else about the Palins than would have otherwise. It's similar to a car accident...people say they don't slow down to look, but they do.

I have watched the Letterman show especially when he is to have a guest on that I like alot and want to see. But I have to admit I have watched the Tonight show with Jay Leno far more. I like his happy go lucky attitude and sense of humor. But if David should get a rating boost because of Palin then good for him.
