How about helping each other earn through write/review team?

I enjoy writing for sites where you earn depending on the number of views your work receives. What if a few (OK, quite a few) people together agreed to read and review each other's work. We would each be better off and our writing would get some thoughtful constructive reviews. What do YOU think? I assume I am not the first with this idea... if you know of any established write/review teams please let me know, eh?

I am in. Notify me of the work you want reviewed. Sounds like a good plan

I have been writing for AC for quite a while. You can go on the forum there and they have people doing this all the time. Here are some of the problems with the idea. 1. People don't write the same amount so pv for pv never equals out. 2. People will either stop writing or will stop commenting on your work because they don't have time. 3. Even if you mean well, eventually you won't comment because you don't have any interest in what the person writes about. The only way to continually get page views is write what you like and hope there are other people interested in the same things. I will comment on someone's article if I like it and their other writings. If they comment on mine then a pv for pv will start with us commenting on each other's work.

You are correct, MommaJ. I think it becomes hard to keep up with friends and your own writing. I just try and do the best I can with my own friends and those who comment on my articles. I think that is the most workable policy. You have certainly pointed out the pitfalls in the idealized version of people helping each other. Even with the best of intentions, such a plan is hard to implement. Great response to this discussion!

Very true - I don't always have time to comment or have no idea what to say intellegently so what I do with AC is get an email when my friends get published and I at least 'view' the article. If it catches my eye I'll comment. I haven't been real active on AC but have been working on visiting other writers which I think has helped me alot.

unfortunately, I have done it enough to know that even with the best intentions, something always happens and it will suddenly end. I always comment on people who leave me comments and sometimes that's hard to do if they don't write anything I am interested in. I will put SOMETHING to let the person know I was there but that doesn't always impress the powers that be. (AC)

Nothing wrong with that.. But if you do it like for example through mylot tasks you should be open to helping people not on or part of the team as well, after all its only fair to offer an equal opportunitiy to people both on and off your team :) .. On mylot people should be doing their best to help eachother with good discussions anyhow the better the entire site performs the better we all earn and the better quality that will be there for all of us.. - DNatureofDTrain

That would be pretty good. I have some reviews on ciao that haven't been read and my balance3 on there remains at 66 cents. In the mean time, I haven't been able to put any more material on there because I can't afford to buy anything being unemployed. You are right, this isn't the first time I've heard of this idea. So far, I don't know of any.

Unfortunately, ciao is closing soon, my friend. They are giving members until July the 1st of this year to save our reviews manually. They are being bought over or some sort, but no more programs for being paid for reviews and stuff.

You must have a love for writing then. If in a case of viewing and etc, I think there are quite a number of writing sites around which you might be interested. Triond is one, if you love writing and have some articles stored somewhere and not having any usage for them, you can submit your content to Triond and join the community there. They are friendly, something like friends in mylot too.

Great idea but think it's been pretty well covered - the best laid plans still fall through. I write here, on AC, 3 active blogs, my web site, and a little on Helium - I try to make friends where-ever and although time doesn't always permit me to respond, comment, or message I do my best to 'visit' the articles and such of my friends on all the different writing sites - they get the credit even if I don't leave a message :)
