For a debate, why is Leonardo da Vinci the greatest thinker of all time?

Any information, any books, any websites with factual knowledge are appreciated.
Please don't discuss how wrong the Da Vinci Code is, I would like to know only about the man himself and why he is considered or can be considered the greatest THINKER ever.
Additional Details:
I have no choice here, I HAVE to argue that he was THE greatest ever.

I can't agree. He was certainly diversified, so that his mark is on a huge variety of ideas and things in our world. He was certainly an innovator. I don't believe, however, there is one greatest thinker. Instead, for the most part, there are greatest thinkers in a number of different areas.

Sa Vinci was a man of many talents and skills, what we would call nowadays a "Renaissance Man." Today, people tend to specialize, but Leonardo could not only paint, but made substantial inquiries into many scientific fields, such as engineering and anatomy and conceptualized many inventions including the tank and the helicopter.
