Would you need gloves to drive a car?

It is my wife who needs a pair of gloves to drive car. According to her sun tans the skin while you are taking care of the steering wheel. For sure it is thinkable and true, it does tan. Thus one surely needs gloves to drive a car!

haha that's funny! even if it's really hot in the philippines, i didn't even think to wear gloves while driving except when i'm driving a bike tho. I think that you just need to have your car tinted (magic tint) so that your wife won't get sun tanned. =)

Does she also wear long sleeves? I don't wear gloves while driving, or ever really. I am not very tan, I don't tan much, but if I did tan, it would be okay with me.

I think that this would only apply if you are driving an open car or with sun coming through an open window. Only the ultraviolet in the sun's rays is responsible for tanning and, since glass (except for certain specialised kinds of glass) is completely opaque to ultraviolet, you could not tan if the only sunlight were coming through the windows (for example, in an air-conditioned car).
