Really? when did this happen? I'm in Makati and I haven't heard anything about it, my boyfriend and my brother works in the fort and they haven't said anything about it.. It would be cool though if I see one, I have never seen a "ipo-ipo".. of course, I hope nobody gets hurt or something. =)

Just saw it in the news, the tornado was in pasig, and the hail was in paranaque. That is definitely the climate change taking its toll in our country.

Ipo-ipo is like a tornado but on a smaller scale. I forgot the exact English term for that actually. I really don't think it's the end of the world but I think this is the product of the Global warming that makes this things happen.

Well, I think ipo ipo is a smaller form of a tornado. But of course it is not one of those that we see in other countries that are very much destructive. If I am not mistaken, our country the Philippines is rarely visited by tornado that brings forth great damage. Usually what we encounter here are typhoons. If we categorize the weather disturbance, it usually starts with low pressure are, then if it develops, it becomes a tropical depression, when it starts to develop strength, it becomes a storm with different signals ranging from signal number 1 to signal number 3. Higher than that it may develop into hurricanes and tornado. We are lucky since our geographical location is not affected by those two destructive weather disturbance.

Ipo-ipo is also a hurricane but not that big compare to other countries. Its very rare to happen here in Philippines but sometimes it does when there is wind accumulated due to storm.

Ipo-ipo is a small tornado formed by minimal probability of forming the tornado. It is very rare to see an ipo-ipo here in the Philippines.

ipo-ipo is the tagalog translation of hurricane. if you've watched the movie of helen hunt - twister you have a pretty good idea how bad it could be.

I guess the reason for this is because of the slow shift of change in the climate. If you've noticed earlier, our country's climate is getting hotter. Maybe that effect has something to do with the reason phenomenons happening in our country. Hey, we may even have snow in the future.
