a Buyer is bidding on your item, they are bidding like I said, the item gets sold and you wait for your payment, and you wait for your payment and wait and wait; I've sent emails Of course I sent the invoice right away that was the first thing I did, and I thanked them for being a repeat customer in fact I even took off the shipping charges because they are a repeat customer; Still no response it makes me nervous when this happens when they don't answer my emails, when they don't pay right away last year or maybe its been over a year now I don't know its been A LONG TIME...Anyway I bid and bought this silly book that my silly niece wanted, sent them a money order waited and waited and waited no responses, no emails ever happened, never got the stupid book; I finally just got sick and tired of messing with it you know? I know I have ZERO PATIENCE and If I had "Money" I'd not be so crazy about waiting to get paid I was in hopes that they would PAY me last WED...then I'd have my money to buy some groceries on Friday last week, well its now Monday afternoon and they've still not paid me, and I'm still waiting so I can get some groceries..(sigh) Payday arrives for me on the 3rd THANK GOD!! I am so sick and tired of being so broke I don't have two dimes or two nickels to rub together or two pennies... and I hate it when I have to wait and wait and wait to be paid... do you have this problem? Do you sell on Ebay?? most of the time I really do hate that place and PAYPAL...just read my other discussions...LOL! But they are the mega giants and its hard to try to sell something anywhere else...

Did you file a dispute with ebay on the book? You should have! Have you canceled the sale yet on this person? Or turned them in for non-payment? They need to understand that they can't play games. If they have a legitimate problem, that's one thing. But, in not communicating with you, you can't know, right? Let 'em have it, girl!!

I agree - there might have been something happen beyond anyone's control with that seller. I mean, look what happened to Billy Mays. Coulda happened there, too. Since they didn't cash the money order, were you able to get that money? Did your niece get the money? What came of it? Yeah - a lot of things probably got by me last year. I might have been aware at the time, but then later, I lost the thought in the midst of the other crap. Such is the state of my life!

The place that sold the money order should have been able to issue a refund on the uncashed MO. They still keep the fee from the money order, but can give the money itself back.

Hey Jerz; Yeah its sad about Billy Mays dying so suddenly; No I got sick of messing with the money order and gave all the information to her, as far as I know she never got her money back or nothing, she lost about $40.00 or so it was a "special book" or rare book or some crazy crap! Since it was not paid via paypal, ebay didn't give a flying fig about it...they just banned him/her because they weren't shipping out the items...I think something serious did happen to them because right up to that time they had excellent feedback you know? OH great my TV sound is all garbled...wonderful! I hope it straightens up by the time my shows come on...GGRR!

I've never sold on eBay, but I have bought there. Every time I've bought it was marked as immediate payment. I always pay by PayPal (now I'll have to go see the other discussion...chuckles). I always just assumed that immediate payment was the default. Am I wrong??? I've got 3 items I want to put on eBay but have procrastinated as I hate reading & understanding their rules!!! I'm sure if I get 1 sold, the other 2 will be easy

OK, I read it!!! Now I feel guilty for using PayPal, but not guilty enough to STOP using it. I love the fact that I don't have to give out any personal information. I've been with PayPal for around 10 years & NEVER had a problem with them!!! They must be nicer to people like me that they never have to pay money. They are just so freaking convenient. I pass on items with people who don't accept PayPal. I hope they release your money soon!!!

Yeah most all listings are set up with IMMEDIATE PAYMENT but hey if you are rich and have weight you can do what you want to do and get away with it if I pulled that stunt on someone I'd be BANNED FOREVER I kid you not...why? Cause I'm a nobody that's why; Good Luck if you do list anything, I'm sure you'll do fine, Yeah that person was kind enough to give me feedback, positive feedback even before they got their package as they too were a repeat customer and they knew I'd be shipping to them what they paid for , its just that old Jan here BLEW A GASKET for those S.O.B'S to be doing that to me AGAIN...I mean I flipped a friggin NUT and I also talked to three different people at PAYPAL I was sooo PIII!!!ssseeeeddd!!!!! so that time it all worked out but who knows for the next time ?? I gave up trying to sell things on Ebay, the charges are to high and I don't like having to use PayPal as they just take out another slice, (and that goes to Ebay as well) And then I have to deal with the idiots who think that they are doing me a favour by taking my goods off my hands for as little as possible. Or for as little as they think they can get away with paying.

HI there: Boy you hit the nail on the head for sure; That's exactly what stinky Ebay and Paypal do, they just take and take and take and we wind up with nada in the end but I need every penny I can earn and I just keep subjecting myself to being kicked in the head repeatadly..LOL! I'm always complaining about Ebay and paypal and last Christmas I even wrote about it in my BLOG..I was severly mad that day too!! Yeah Paypal and Ebay are all one and the same really, and even though there are a lot of other auction sites out there, I've never ever sold a blasted thing on them not one stinkin thing, they hold the corner market in it all and then old Amazon has gotten totally mental too of late with what you can and CAN NOT sell on there; All I have on there is books, cd's and DVD's...big deal I've not sold a thing there for months, at least there are no fee's until it sells, and then now recently they changed their deal on that site too...YOU HAVE TO SHIP THE ITEM to the customer BEFORE THEY RELEASE PAYMENT TO US...EXCUSE ME??? THAT'S A BUNCH OF CRAP!! so if the customer renegs in a few days my item is already there at the customer or almost at their door so I'd be out the MDSE..and the money now is that fair? I think they all have gone COMPLETELY MAD!!!!!

HI there: Yeah Amazon is way low on a lot of the shipping costs on many items, I think they have so many they just can't keep up with the cost of postage with it all getting higher and higher all the time; Yeah the books and Cd's and what few DVD's I have left to sell are all that is left from I don't know how many yard sales over the years, I've got one more lined up this fall and after that...if the items don't sell these too will go to the handi-shop here where they take all sorts of stuff to resell and or for others to use if needed; WE also have a new thrift store here that sells all sorts of things really cheap I also talked to a woman at the library about me just donating the books that I have there she said they'd take them I am really tired of packing them around with me everywhere these are mostly all hardback books and they are heavy..

That stinks when people don't answer their email or pay right away. My hubby and I both pay as soon as we win the bid. Why would anyone wait? Do it right now when you are looking at the winning bid notification! We haven't sold on Ebay yet but we will. I am going to do like you and put a store on my website first! Good luck! :)

Hi Shawna: Oh I know its totally insane, I always pay as soon as I win my bid mostly because I am wanting or needing the item, I buy all my printer ink on ebay as a rule its usually WAY cheaper there and then bubble wrap very very very rarely have I ever bought anything for me of any value, PPFFTT!! just crap I need for my computer mostly (G)! Good luck when you give it a go, if you have questions about something you know where to find me ok? Just PM ME...I'm always here at some point during the day..LOL! trying to make a dime...trying to make a dollar praying I reach payout (G)! how pathetic am I????

As a buyer, my reputation is at stake. I have a good reputation for paying quickly. I have just recently bought something on ebay. As soon as I won the auction, I paid for it. The sooner I do it, the sooner I get the item. My husband bid on something. Just for fun, he placed a maximum bid for $350 australian thinking he would be out bidded but he won the auction. What didn't help was that we didn't have the money for it. We went to see the item and it was a heap of junk. I said to him that I would not pay any more than $200. I was not happy. We argued over it. The item was a caravan. wood rot every where inside. Caravan was falling apart. The whole caravan would have to be stripped right back to the shell and redone. It was something I did not want to do. Plus the seller did not mention about the poor condition of the caravan. My husband pulled out, The seller of the caravan ended up putting the caravan back on ebay with a more acurate discription and only got half of my husbands winning bid. My own motto for Ebay, I need to have the money first before bidding. Pay straight away. If in doubt about the item, don't bid. Don't have the money, don't bid. Inpect the item before bidding if unsure. If you can't inspect the item if you are unsure about the item, then don't bid. I bet your buyer didn't follow simple safety rules when it came to bidding. My husband didn't with the caravan.

HI Chookie1971; Exactly I know what you mean I too always pay immediately as Ebay states to do and most all listings state this, it just makes me crazy when I get one that drags on and on tomorrow will be one week, I mean if this was a new person that had never bought from me then I'd say I was out to be screwed but they have been a good customer in the past I am just worried that something is going on but then too I see them receiving good feedback for buying other stuff every day..AARRgghh! Your story was amazing to read I mean WOW! It would be cool and all to have gotten a good caravan I think they are really cool myself but I bet your hubby was in "trouble" huh? LOL!! so I have to ask, has your husband done any more buying on Ebay? LOL!! thanks for sharing and for stopping by...

It would have been nice to have a caravan but the condition it was in. I was not impress. Hubbie was in trouble. I was ready to walk. Since then he still uses ebay but never tells me when he is bidding on something now. I don't like that.

Well I am right there with you on the broke stuff! I am used to having some money in my wallet and I don't even have a few pennies these days let alone a few bucks! I have not a big fan of ebay either. Back in the day it used to be good, however, lately it seems so hard to get paid! Then there are the fees - you may be better off having a garage sale. I am seriously thinking about doing that this coming up weekend - just to make some extra money where I don't have to pay the ebay fees!!!! Good luck trying to get payment!

Unfortunatley, Ebay has allowed buyers to slow pay since sellers can't give them a negative. For the most part, I've been lucky and receive payment almost immediately from many of my buyers. But every once in awhile, I find myself waiting 10-12 days before even getting an email...usually how they were in the hospital with a heart attack, or their computer imploded...but they always get around to sending the payment. It is ironic that when a quick payment would really help you out, that's when the buyers slow-pay.

i know exactly what you mean, one problem i have is that i fully describe the items i put up for sale, e.g. one of my listing titles is 32" LCD Tv baring in mind that is the title i still got an email from a potential buyer asking if it was LCD i feel like screaming, why would i put that in the title if i was pretending. Also we have a car up for sale and we clearly put in the listing, if you wish to come to my house to view the car message me, but do this before you bid, however like you we are struggling to buy the simplest basics things such as food and when the car sold we were estatic however after sending the invoice, the buyer said they will not pay unitl they view the car, well i gave him a very negative feedback, after i clearly stated not to do that, so there we go i wasted 8 pound on ebay fees listing it for an idiot to do that.

HI Oconnell; Oh My! And here I thought I had problems all the time with them, you are very very brave to list a car for sale on there, one of my Doctor's has been thinking of having me do this for him for years, and we've never gotten around to it but it scares me... I can just imagine the idiot emails I'll be getting you know like does the horn work, or what about the lights do they turn on? etc..etc...I will pull out what's left of my thin hair...LOL! so did you sell the 32" LCD TV?? and was it an LCD?? LOL! Man I wish you lived closer I am in need of a new TV myself darn! The one I have now is 32 years old and the color is really bad on a few of my stations, I think its time I retire it; Yeah no matter what we say or write in our listings some moron always comes along and just drives you crazy, or doesn't pay or leaves negative feedback, I had that happen to me also because they got mad that I charged shipping insurance and the listing CLEARLY STATES THAT THERE IS INSURANCE ON ALL HIGH DOLLAR PACKAGES its right there when they check on the shipping costs too..HELLO??? God there are some really really STUPID people on there ... so then anyway they get all p!sssyyyy about it and then say on the negative feedback that I didn't respond to their emails which I did and that I charged them shipping ins. after the sale...I did no such thing, stupid idiot!! like I said somedays I really do hate ebay and paypal and all the fee's and crap that goes on there anymore...(sigh)!

No, I never had this problem with ebay. My problem was vastly different. My former friend worked at an upscale department store and would gift me things. I.e. says a 7 for mankind jeans were given to her and she didn't want them, she'd pass them on to me. I don't need, or wear, those things, so they went on ebay. Once, I had got a pair of shoes that retail for hundred of dollars that were not even my size. So, off to ebay they go. I listed them for a buy it now or best offer of 150. Less than like a 1/5 of what they retailed for. No one bought them and I was getting offers of 25-30 bucks. The highest offer was 50 bucks. I'm tired of ebay. No one wants to pay decent prices and ebay fee and paypal fees are too high.

No, I don't sell on ebay, myself. I bought a music stand from ebay one time. It seemed like it took forever to get it, though. I sent the guy emails that I bought it from and he couldn't understand why I hadn't gotten it. He told me when he had sent it out, etc. I think it was either UPS or fedex that was supposed to deliver it and I called them but I had trouble understanding where the recording said they delivered it. Their recordings are hard for me to understand. It sounds like they are running their words together or something. I finally understood it to say "front door". I checked my front door and there it was sure enough! I hardly ever use my front door. That's why I didn't think to check there. I sent the guy another email to let him know that I got it. I'm sure he was relieved! As for your problem, I don't know what to tell you. It sounds like these people are playing around with you. If it were me, I wouldn't deal with them any more. Of course, that's up to you. It's bad when you're needing the money and they won't pay you. I just hope they do send you the money one or another in the next few days. Kathy.

Hi Kathy: Your music stand story was funny, I mean I'm glad you got it and all but funny that your package was at the front door..LOL!! Note to self here Kathy, if you ever buy anything on line again, check your front door...hehehee!! Well normally this person has always been great in answering emails and they are a repeat buyer which is why its so weird this time, I'm guessing something has happened I don't know but then when I checked their feedback they are crazy busy paying everyone else for crap but NOT OLD JAN...NOT JAN who needs that cash... UGH! its just more of that rotten luck I have if the item is not paid for by WED, that will be 7 days then I will file a dispute and relist the damn thing ebay won't charge me fee's again big whoop..I WANT THE MONEY for the item not to have to relist it...

Is it possible you can get your money back if they don't send you the book? What about the items that you sold, or supposedly sold? Could you get them back if they don't pay you? I don't mean to ask so many questions. I was just concerned, that's all. I hope it all works out for you. I just haven't dealt with ebay but one time. I really have to watch what I spend. Kathy.

On a side-somewhat related tangent... Amazon's fees make me angry too. I'm in the same boat. I'm living paycheck to paycheck and I started listing all my used textbooks (that I'd make maybe $5.00/book on) only to realize that I'd actually only be making like $2.00/book after Amazon takes all their listing fees! I listed them anyway because I can use the money I can get, but sheesh! I've never felt so ripped off! But what other options do I have? Not many that I'd be as likely to sell my books quickly for the cash I need.
