hi mylotters! i'd just like to ask your opinions because i'm planning to get a new phone. i can't decide which would be better for me though if it'd be the touch screen phone, the Qwerty phone with the full keyboard or the one with the regular numeric keypad. i'd also appreciate it if you could give me the pros and cons of one versus the other....because i'm finally replacing my phone after six years and i'd like to make sure i make a good investment. :)

My VOTE 1. Touch + Regular Buttons - The best (but a few mobile in the market) 2. Regular Buttons - 1 hand use (best for sms) 3. QWERTY - 2 hand use (can't use while driving, tiny buttons) 4. Touch screen - Sucks!!! only for girls

I have an Apple iPhone, which is a touchscreen. I love my iPhone, but I wish it had a QWERTY keyboard. It seems like it would be easier (and faster) to type things, because my fingers wouldn't accidentally brush the wrong key. I also love my apps, and my friend who has a Blackberry doesn't have any of those. They only allow you a few. So it depends on your preferences. Good luck and happy shopping!

Hiii, It actually depends on personal preference. If you email or message a lot then a mobile with qwerty keypad is the best for you. If you mostly use the phone for calling, then a touchscreen is very useful as this kind of phone is the easy to use phone. Personally though i would prefer a touchscreen over a qwerty keypad phone due to the easy to use features and also once you get used to the touchscreen, you may be able to type faster.

Well, if you're using the regular numeric keypad for 6 years, be prepared to face some initial roadblocks if you switch to either the touch screen or the qwerty phone. Thats what happened to me when I switched to a qwerty one. But once you get the hang of it, you can type faster than what you could on the numeric one. As for the touchscreen, do give it a try before you buy because different models have different sensitivity and you might find that some are not to your liking, so don't wait till you've bought it and its too late..

I'd have to say the con of a touch screen is if you are typing for a letter or something like that.. you can't feel the keys to know if you are on one or not. YOu don't know if you have over touched the key, or touched the wrong one.. you have no sense of distance between the keys on a touch screen. It'd be really hard to type - I used to type 90wpm and I know it wouldn't have happened on a touch screen. You need that feel of the key for speed.

I'd still choose my current gadget, which is the iphone, i love to tap and it's less pretty tiring than those qwerty and numerical keypads. i also tried to use sony ericson's phones with stylus but it really didn't amazed me

I think qwerty should be really functional than normal keypad and in some cases even in realtion to the virtual qwerty too!! So you must think that if you must write mails or mesages on your phone in many cases the virtual qwerty should be a bit uncomfortable and the qwerty physical would improve your use very much especially when you are away from home!! So considering last phones i think you can see one that have a werty virtual and physical too..so you can have both for every purposes on your phone too!!

Actually, it's based on your lifestyle.. if you are a business minded person, it's nice to have a business phone like qwerty or touch screen but if you are always on the go, a regular numeric keypad phone is right for you.. i have tried different types of phones already and i can say that i have liked them all.. it's best to read reviews and specifications online before buying a new phone for yourself.. make sure to get what you truly deserve! good luck

it really depends on your lifestyle i guess...personally, i had to choose between a numeric keypad phone and a touch screen phone before and i'm glad i stuck to the traditional numeric keypad because it allows me to send a text or two while driving without really having to look at what i'm typing. you can't really do that with touch screen phones. i know they also have a numeric keypad installed unlike the on you have on the regular phones, you can't really feel the keys. so you have to check and look if you're pressing the correct key or not. i don't really have much experience with qwerty keypad phones but i doubt i can send a text message while driving slowly with it either.
