Do you think too much?

I am reading a great book about thinking positive thoughts. This book is by Joyce Meyer, the Christian author and she is so good. Then Norman Vincent Peale, the well known Christian author also has great book on the Power of Positive Thinking. It is teaching us that we have to think positive and good thoughts. We have to be in control of what we are thinking and not let our minds wander or wonder. That is a hard thing for me to do , well, let's call it a challenge. I want to wonder (worry, doubt) why people said this or that and then when I am supposed to be listening to someone my mind tends to wander (roam). It is a challenge to keep my mind on what I am doing, reading, etc. I am a multi0tasker and my mind tends to jump from one thing to another. LOL How are you when it comes to thinking? Give me your opinions and please be nice and considerate. You do not have to answer this is you don't have something good to add to this post. Thanks in advance and God bless you!

hi, i find really hard to bring up the positive thinking. like you my mind wanders when i m listening to a conversation or lectures. i wont say that i m a multi tasker. i think i get confused with whole lot of things. Actually i came to know that Yoga is the best. that helps to improve positive thinking, confidence, mental and physical well being. it has a lot of advantages. so i m going to give it a try.. they say that we should not follow our mind. our mind should do whatever we say. so in yoga you will learn all this. im just giving a suggestion. good luck.

I think thinking too much creates a tension in the mind due to which one can't concenterate on other work properly. What we will get for taking an attention if something is not in our hand. so always live in a relax situation because thinking too much for something causes an angerness.

Thinking a lot is good. We don't get much of a chance to do that when our attention is drawn away by television and other things. Positive thinking is just as good as long as you don't lie to yourself, because that seems to be an ingredient in the advice of tsome of these great teachers on positive thinking. Negative thinking can really destroy you. It is like putting a curse on yourself. Eg: "I'm so forgetful these days", or "I cannot do this, it's not my strong point", or "I'm bad at doing .....". There are a myriad of examples of curses you put on yourself, limiting yourself by your words. You tend to believe yourself. If you tell yourself and others that you suffer from insomnia, then believe me, You ARE going to battle getting to sleep. I remind myself that I don't have a problem with sleep at all, for instance, and that is quite a pleasure.

It depends. Sometimes I will think too much, and sometimes I don't think enough. I want to think, but then I cannot think. I want to have an answer to everything, but I end up having a total brain fart.

I'm not sure what Christianity has to do with positive thinking, but there are literally hundreds of authors who have written powerful and motivational books. Dr. Wayne Dyer, Dr. Deepak Chopra and many, many others are incredibly inspirational, and most do include Christianity as part of their material. Positivity is a huge part of literature of all sorts. In order to be able to concentrate, all it takes is being ready to accept the message. Meditation helps, as well.

Oh Yes, I am a kind of person who thinks too much. Even for the smallest of the things, put too much thinking and then do it. I have noticed that I have been doing this from a long time....since I was a kid. I do not know whether this is a good habit or a bad habit, but I feel that this "too much" thinking makes me an alert person and that way I have somehow understood to sense the things...cheers..

Thinking positive thoughts, for me may be thinking to create the new things, or think the good way to solve the problem, more they mean we should concentrate about what are you doing or reading, why do we do for?

I try to follow Louise Hay for positive thinking, and really it is a matter of living one day at a time, you work with affirmations. Here is one example: Success Affirmation In the infinity of life where I am, All is perfect, whole, and complete. I am one with the Power that created me. I have within me all the ingredients for success. I now allow the success formula to flow through me And manifest in my world. Whatever I am guided to do will be a success. I learn from every experience. I go from success to success and from glory to glory. My pathway is a series of stepping stones To ever greater successes. All is well in my world. The thing is also to change a negative thought with a positive one.
