my geek friend lied to me

I'm not a computer person. I know how to make them go. I know how to use various websites. I know how to write on the computer. But as far as when anything goes wrong with it I have no clue. I was told to stop using Explorer and use Mozilla instead because Mozilla didn't crash as much. I found that to be true but lately it's not the case. I wonder if Mozilla is getting worse or if my geek friend just lied to me because she hates Microsoft. I'm not kidding. She calls it the evil empire. What do you all think? Is Mozilla really better than Microsoft? Or is my geek friend just using my naivete to advance her political position?

Both browsers crash for me too. Mozilla still works best for me even if it does crash. However, I think it's because of a toolbar I have installed. Before I installed a toolbar, Mozilla rarely crashed on me. There really is no great browser. They all have their bugs. Each browser has different features too, like when firefox crashes I can restore the session I had, which makes it easier for me so I don't have to go back to every site I was at. It's really just a matter of opinion and what your preference is.

That depends on what version your running. I've been having crashing problems for a while now, and it's probably because of a buggy patch. Back before the newest version of Firefox, crashing was almost unheard of (for me, anyway). I'm waiting for a new patch to fix the problem. When it comes down to Internet explorer and Firefox, though, I still prefer Firefox. I like their add-ons better.

I tried Mozilla once and didn't care for it. I just like internet explorer better. I guess it all depends on what you're used to. As far as it crashing, I don't know since I don't use it. Maybe the geeks know something we don't, cause I sure don't care for Mozilla as a browser either.

Mozilla is better, security wise and in other aspects as well. It would be third party software that is causeing errors in Mozilla. The thing is Mozilla is open-source so it is being worked on my thousands of people.

I prefer Firefox and had a problem with it crashing on me for awhile. I took off all the addons and haven't had problems since. I think what was happening was that whenever Firefox updated something I had added was not compatible. I prefer it even without the customizations I had put on it. I'm more worried about it working right than whether it looks cool.

ROFL.. I can't believe you called your friend geek.Cute! Anyway, coming to the point. Mozilla Fire Fox/ FF is far better than IE. It may crash a little (I have not faced this issue too much), but then security wise it is superior to IE and most other browsers. So what your friend has said is correct. Microsoft IE has several security loop holes and hackers find it far easier to take control of your PC , if you use IE and do something wrong with it. So, my suggestion would be to stick with FF. If you have too many add-ons with FF then may be you would like to uninstall them. I faced a similar issue when I had an add-on with my Fire fox and once I uninstalled it, the crashing issue was fixed. Happy myLotting!

yes mozilla fireforx is much better compared to microsofts IE.. Although it does not mean that it dnt crashes...but its easy to use.. moreover it has more and better facilities like adons and multiple tabs.. so i also would suggest to use firefox instead of IE. I think Mozilla is much better than explorer. I use explorer too before and it keeps on crashing and saying needs to be debug. My teacher from my school advises me to use mozilla instead. Until now I'm using them.
