How much does the pool cost?

I brought my kids to the community pool today because it was finally nice out. I was shocked at the prices. $4 per adult $3 per child under 5 are free Thankfully I had 2 free admission coupons, so I only had to pay for my oldest son and myself.. the twins were free. Still $7 to go swimming. The next town over is $1 cheaper per person, but their baby pool isn't anywhere near the big pool, and I'd need both pools due to the ages of my kids. Do you go to the community pool? How much does it cost?

4.50 euros for adults and 3 euros for kiddos under 12, so that's even more expensive than your pool.

That's why I started this discussion, I've been beating myself up all day over how much I spent, I just wanted to show myself that others pay just as much if not more! Thanks for responding.

It's not very cheap indeed. It can be really refreshing though.

Where I live they have just changed the swimming fees and now kids under 16 can swim free so only the adults have to pay. Its good because it encourages kids to swim more and so they will get a bit more exercise.

In the city the community pool is totally free, but then you have to deal with the riff raff of the city, and I don't have the guts to do that! I wish our pool didn't charge the kids... or at least not charge the adults. Why should I have to pay when I'm not even swimming, I'm just watching the kids!

I haven't been to the public pool this year so I am not sure on the prices and all, but the prices last year were $3 for adults(16 and up) and $2 for the kids. Yeah but that dollar cheaper per person you save by going to the next town you will waste probably in gas there and back...and you end up with a less nicer pool.

We dont have a community pool where we live. The kids go swimming in the Creek and sometimes we go to the free beach at the lake. My mom and dad have a pool but it is the next town over too. We are thinking about getting our own in a year or two, I hope we can.

We have gone yes. It is an indoor pool. For residents, its a flat price of $2. Open swim during the week is Wednesday from 7-9 pm, so we don't get to go often. That price does seem a bit steep.

I think last time I priced it, we were at similar rates to you. The sad thing is the next county over they charge say .75 for a kid & $1 for an adult but they have more pools to choose from & a bigger tax base. I dunno we looked into getting a season long pool pass. But you know 1 there were only certain times that were family times, in a public pool no less & 2 cause I live in the "township" I'm considered a non-resident, so that ment the all access pool pass for my family was about $175! Yeah for $20 more I can get a cheap quick set from WM & go as I wish when I wish.

I have no idea how much the pool would cost. We haven't gone swimming anywhere for years. I think it is a few dollars, but I'm not sure. We usually just fill a kiddie pool here for the kids. I want to get the girls swimming lessons this year hopefully. Then once they all know how to swim we might take them other places. There also is a state park near here that has a little beach area to swim in the lake, but that water is always freezing cold.

Last wednesday, out of the blue, my mom wanted to go out and swim the community pool. So we went there. Me, my mom, 4 kids, my 2 brothers and my sister in law. For adult, we only pay $1.50 for the adult and $1 for the kids..its in pesos so i just converted it to dollars. Its really cheap here, so we can always go to any community pool and swim.

We have 5 pools that opened this year and our community is almost 300,000 so it's not practical to go. The pool prices vary but the cheapest one is $1 per person. My neighbor has a pool and he never uses it so we get to swim there for free.

It seems like a lot but at least you enjoy the pool, I have not gone to a community pool in a looong time. It is far away from where I live and by the time we get there, we would need a shower and will be gone in nothing flat. lol I am glad you got to enjoy the pool with your family.

We have community pools, but I don't go to them. If I want to go swimming, I go to the lake where it's free. If you get there early, you can have it to yourself for a while. There aren't any lifeguards, so you have to swim at your own risk. They have that posted, so you know going in.

Hi katsmeow, we generally use the sea rather than a pool but a couple of weeks ago we were staying with a friend further north and we went to a large outdoor pool with a couple of water slides for the boys to use. The pool and loungers were free and it cost 5 euros to use the water slides. It was the first time my son had used a water slide and was immediately hooked.
