I had this idea this week to try to start a Birthday Card Club. It is at the moment a dream. I am in the design phase. I am doing it on Yahoo Groups. I should have it up this weekend. But I have been telling everyone about it. I started talking about it when I made the discussion about my birth sign.
I started giving everyone my home and email address. I had given them my birthdate. Which now is four days away, on July 15th.
To date I have had 17 people sign up. They have sent me their home address and email. I am so happy. They will all be getting a letter from me something within the next week.
The people that are signing up are from all over the world. Not just the United States, but as far away as the Philippines to India. To Malaysia and Australia and the United Kingdom have asked me to write. I am over joyed.
This is so wonderful for me. I am bedridden for most of my life. The only time I am out of my bed is when I have a doctor's appointment. So I have plenty o time for letters. Each and every letter and card will be different.
I want to thank publically my very first person that sent me a birthday card. He is know here as jwfarrimond. And he in my book is a wonderful guy. I have placed his card on my TV table so I can see it easy. I have saved the envelope. Thanks you dude for being the first person!!
It is a surprise. So many people say they are going to do something and never follow through. And you did and that makes you a very rare person. And a good friend in my book. Thanks 100 times.

That is wonderful, I am glad that you received a card. Mylot is a good place to make friends and pen pals. I am sorry that we got off on the wrong foot it seems. I have checked my mail again..are you having problems with the email? If so I can try another one.

Good job! I use Birthdayalarm.com, it's a wonderful thing to do. Do you all send cards through e-mail or postal mail? Or it seems like you do both? Well that's interesting, my friend. Take care!

I am sending threw the postal mail if I get home address. Email if I don't get home address.
Mt Dew:: I have been feeling very sick and have had just enough strength to keep up with ,ylot right now. sorry. I do have the kidney surgery coming up.

Wow, I'm impressed for what you doing. I beleive it will be a success. I want to join, but the place I'm staying is far from post office and town. I'm living in a very rural area. But, before I forgot, I want to wish you a happy birthday, and from what you writing, I'm assume you are sick? I'm sorry if I'm wrong. I wish for a speedy recovery. It's a wonderful thing right to receive something on your birthday, right? Last night I chat with my university closed friend and she say sorry for wishing me a late birthday because by the time she remember my birthday, she unable to reach me because there is no phone coverage in my place. Take care. That guy who sent you a card is also a great guy.

today very little people who send post card at birthday, many of them send it by mail just like me, send it thousand of electronic card to all my collegue and all my friend when they are having birthday

Hi Cookie. Glad that you got my card OK and in good time. It's a good idea that you have and I hope that the others who have signed up will follow through and send you a card as well. You'll be getting a Christmas card from me as well.

First of all... Happy birthday :):) I know I'm early , but I might not be able to come here on that date:)
It is really one of the best things about the internet, the fact that we can make friends from far and wide.
I find that a wonderful idea and I'm sure that each card will be appreciated.
I will certainly like to visit your birthday card club once is up, although I might not take the opportunity to be a part, because I am completely hopeless when it comes to remember things. I wouldn't want to say I would do something and then forget.
I used to belong to a group and we used to send cards to each other at Christmas and birthdays as well. I signed up for those until I realized it wasn't for me. I would start receiving cards and only then would remember that I was supposed to send them as well. I was so embarrassed

Awww, Isn't that sweet, that's one thing i like in this site.. they usually send something and then greet you. actually my friend did sent me a letter, but it turned out to be seductive, luckily my hubby didn't see it. he later apologizes because he push the wrong button,as i think he is.

Cookie, that is wonderful. I know how hard it is to live with chronic and debilitating illness, and those kinds of things mean a lot to us. I wish I had enough extra money to become penpals with people from all over the world! Maybe someday :) In the meantime, I feel blessed to be able to communicate with wonderful people everywhere via the internet. :)
I hope the 15th is a very special and happy day for you.
