Would you color your hair just for a change of pace?

I know people like to cover gray. I would too if I had prematurely gone gray. But my bf and I were discussing this. She wants a change. Currently I am happy with my hair and not in need of a change. I am not sure she will like it, but it would grow out eventually, right? What advice would you give her?

I color my hair. I love dying it Auburn red. I have a mousy color hair. I don't really have to many gray hairs or they aren't so noticeable with my hair coloring. But if she wants a change tell her go for it. Alot of people need change and I like to change it up once a year atleast just to get out of the groove/rut I sometimes feel I am in. I even dyed my hair purple once..not thinking that Black cherry would be purplish..hey the kids who seen it loved it. It was okay..after I got used to it..it stayed purple for 10 weeks before it was changed.

It grows out eventually, I'd say go for it! But if you're trying to go blonde, I'd say go for a professional because that is how I always mess up my hair. Brown hair will go to red, to darker brown, to black, etc. But blonde I always end up with orange and green and other such colors that I don't want.

I think changing hair color is more of a woman thing than a man's. (Except to cover gray, of course.) For your best friend, I would say "why not?" I really don't see this as a big thing. If you want to make some small change in your life, coloring your hair is certainly more benign than many other options.
