Frontline or Advantage?

I'm buying my cats some flea medicine this weekend! I'm compairing prices on different websites for these 2 different products as we speak. We've used Advantage on our cats for as long as we've had cats, but my husband suggested this time we get Frontline. I've never used it, so I'm not sure how it would work, but I've read some reviews on PetCareRX that Frontline doesn't work for everyone. Which do you use? Which do you prefer?

I use Frontline on my dog several of my friends use something called Biospot which I have tried and it is much cheaper than Frontline but, I can't stand the smell of it. My dog smelled like oranges for several days after and I do not like the smell of citrus.

I've never heard of Biospot, but I don't mind the smell of oranges so maybe that's something I'll look into eventually.

We have used Advantage and other ones but never Frontline yet. So I can't help in an opinion there..but seeing how this is 8 months old..what did you decide on and did it work if you decided on using the Frontline?

Back when we owned Cats we always used Advantage, and I am sure that is what our Vet recommended the Best to use as well. I would think since it gets the Best reviews anyways overall, that would be the Best choice as well, but wishing you the Best.

I have used both and I don't think that there is any difference as far as killing fleas is concerned - they both do the job. There may be a price difference or a question of availability which will determine which you buy.

Hey kats! I have always used Frontline on my cats! That is what my Vets used and that is what they told me to use and I've never had a problem with fleas when I did use it. I honestly don't really know what the differences are and doubt that there are probably any except maybe price?? I would go by what the consensus of the people that have used the two say and make your decision accordingly.

Well its the same medicine for dogs. And this year i had gotten frontline as that is what my Vet offered and so we bought it through the vet. We were having a flea problem on my little dog and then we thought of getting the yard sprayed and that helped a lot as now he doesn't have any fleas. We were putting on the frontline and the fleas were still there until we got the yard sprayed, so not to sure if frontline works or not to tell you the truth but he doesn't have any fleas now so it might be working.
