Who is the head of your household? Who should be?

Back in the old days (where I still belong) it's the husband who's the head of the household. He brings the bacon and wears the pants. He's the one who decides for the family. Do you still believe this? or has things changed? Further, do you still want your husband or the husband to be the head of the family? Or should it be equal?

When I receive surveys they usually ask who is the Head and define it as the Chief Income Earner so, currently, that would be me. However, I wouldn't say that there IS a head of our household.

The husband is the head of the family because that is the original design of the family. Wives are commanded by the word of God to submit to their husbands. Though equal in rights as individuals, they have separate and different roles in the family and as they both fulfill these roles, there shall be harmony in the household. Many times, when women desire the role that was divinely appointed to husbands, conflict becomes inevitable.

My father is the head of our house and he should be also because he is the one who has been taking care of all of us, and he is always the one who is here to do up things for us when we need him. He is very strong and very responsible so he is the one to be the head of the house.
