i tried learning guitar, but i was teaching myself and didnt have time for it anymore. I really want to learn- i might take a class for it. The little I did teach myself was a lot of fun. I would like to be able to just play a song that i want to hear. Like, "oh.. i feel like listening to this song.." and then just start playing it. Just sounds fun to me. I also always wanted to learn the saxophone. It has such a smooth pretty sound- so relaxing.

I taught myself guitar way back when i was in middle school. If you have a guitar you can do a search on youtube and now alot of people have posted lessons on there to help yourself learn

I play guitar just a little....but I would have loved to take lessons and learned how to play it alot better. I would have loved to be able to strum some of my favorite tunes...especially some country tunes that I really like.

It's never too late to learn. I learned to play guitar at community college. The lessons were only $11 for each semester and I only took 3 semesters. After that I joined a guitar ensemble for awhile, until work interfered and ruined my fun.

I am a musician and I play lots of different instruments. Piano, guitar, electric guitar, bass, banjo, and was even working on fiddle/violin for a while. The thing you have to remember is anything you start and want to keep doing you have to stick with. Learning music, and instruments takes practice and dedication and doesn't happen overnight. It's true that some people have a knack for picking it up faster than others and I was fortunate enough to be one of those people, but I do believe that anyone that wants to can learn to play an instrument decently well if they have the devotion to it and are willing to put in the time. If you own the instrument and wish to play it, there is no excuse for you not to learn. Today there are millions of websites devoted to showing you tips and tricks and even have free beginning lessons, (or you could do it the old fashioned way by getting a hard copy book and reading some chord charts or scale diagrams) But music is fun in a lot of ways and it is very relaxing and a great way to deal with stress and other things that come along int life, and most importantly its something you can share with others. So if you want to learn and you have it just look up some charts, get a friend that plays to show you some stuff. Everyone I know that plays would be happy to show others some things and give them a headstart.

I wish i knew how to play the drums.I don't have it at home, because i can not afford it yet. I am interested with this instrument because i like hitting stuff that produces tune. Way back in High School, i used to hit my table and produce music. I loved to play the melody of "buttercup". The second instrument that i would love to learn would be the guitar cause it's cool and when i feel "emo" i can emote myself beside the window and play sad songs.

Have you thought about looking at a pawn shop or going online to cragslist.com or something and seeking out a used beginning set of drums? You could probably find a decent deal, especially if the person has been playing a while and takes an interest in a new student eager to learn. The drummer that I play with has about 5 or 6 sets and he always says he would like to sell one off. maybe if you know someone they are in the same position and want to make a few extra bucks but would give you a great deal if they know you are really interested.

Probably the saxophone or the violin. Saxophone because I love jazz, and the violin because it can sound smooth and sometimes I get goosebumps listening to a good violin piece.

I do wish I could play the piano as good as maksim.. I dreamt of playing bumblebee, sugarplum fairy dance or moonlight sonata.. Its my frustrations to learn how to play piano. I always asks my dad to teach me (he knows how to play all the musical instruments in the house) how to play the piano but due to his super busy schedule he cant, thats why I learn to play the basics by myself but Im still struggling to learn more and I keep on practicing so that eventually I can tell my dad that I had learned how to play the piano by myself.

The violin! I've always wanted to learn how to play, but I never got the chance. I actually play the piano, and my mom insisted that I should just concentrate on it, but now I have totally lost interest. A friend of mine recently bought one and he's been telling me that if I get one too, we should take lessons together. I am still thinking about whether I should get one, but it's kind of expensive here, so I will still weigh it out whether I should or not.

Nice question you've posted!:) I play bass guitar, so on one hand I would like to play bass perfectly. On the other hand, I am not totally newbie in playing bass guitar anymore, so I can play some songs and learn some new ones. One instrument that I would truly like to play is actually trumpet. It's because I saw a movie called " the Salton Sea". Main character was trumpet player here, so that instrument caught my eye from first sight. I also like trumpet because it has superb sound, I could play different kinds of melodies with it: sad or cheerful.

Like you, I also sing. I have a guitar...I just haven't played it in a while. I keep saying I need to get to it, but I never seem to make the time. That is what it all boils down to for me. I have to MAKE the time to practice. That is the way it is for any instrument, if you want to be good. You have to practice, practice, practice! I can play "Margaritaville" on the guitar, because it only involves 3 chords! I am the lead singer in a cover band, and the lead guitarist taught me that one so I could play along with a song. It is fun, but I feel like a dork picking up my guitar for only one song that night, then putting it back on its little stand for the rest of the gig. I guess you have to start somewhere though, right?

It would be to learn playing guitar and drums. I do know how to play piano but you cant always carry a piano around. Unlike guitar you can bring it anywhere and play anytime you feel like it. I tried to learn it when I was still teenager but my brother told me my fingers would look like E.T.'s fingers of I continue... well I am a lady and I dont want my finger to look ugly. So I stopped and never learned it. I also wanted to learn how to play drums I think its a good way of channeling anger. :)

I really want to be able to play the erhu. It's a classical instrument that's most often heard and played in China. I always loved the classical, especially when it's played with the erhu. I love the sound and romance of the instrument itself is really appealing to me. I sometimes see people play it on TV and always get mesmerize by how well they play and how into the music they seem. I heard that it only has two strings so it's kind of difficult to play. It's not an instrument that can be played by everyone. I hope one day, I'll have the chance to play it. In the meantime, I think I'll just go enjoy listening to more music by the erhu.

I have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar; never really had the time to do so. It's something that someone can do on her own, singing while playing the guitar; something that can help pass the time, too. I used to study piano but i have completely forgotten how to play :(

hi tiffany! well, there are three instruments that i wanted to know how to play before. number 1 is the guitar, second the piano, and third are drums. these three instruments were on top of my list on instruments i should know how to play. when i was in college i learned how to play the guitar. so i got one down. 2 years ago i learned how to play the piano. so the thing that's left on the list is playing the drums. i don't think i will ever learn that on my lifetime though. i guess over the years i just lost interest on it. i'm pretty well contented of knowing how to play the guitar and the piano. and i'm still learning to play better. but if someone would say that they'll teac h me how to play the drums then i would gladly accept it without second thought.

Hi justbeingtiffany I wish i can play harps,,because I think harps player looks elegant There isn't many harps player in my country. When I was child, I love to read story about ancient Gods and the fairy that play harps, so maybe it affect me too.. I don't have harps because I don't know where to buy and it's expensive. Now I take a piano course instead of harps,,but it's okay, I love piano too
