Have you accidentally laundered odd or important things left in pockets?

Ack! Many times, if I neglect to check the pockets of others before putting clothes in the washer, I have found some really odd or important things that went through the wash or even the dryer: wallets, ink pens, crayons, small computer disks, screws and nails, etc. What things have you accidentally washed or dried when doing laundry? Karen

Hi Jaxsky. I forgot to add money to my own list. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "laundering money," doesn't it? LOL. Odd to find the battery and not the watch lol. Happy day to you. Karen

Haha I know, I honestly have no idea where the battery came from either! Seriously strange!!!

Hello my friend PeacefulWmn9 Ji, It has many times happened, when my important documents lioke Permanent license/Identity cards etc were left and washed as well. I had tough time to procure them from authorities. May God bless You and have a great time.

Hello my friend PeacefulWmn9 Ji, So nice of you for your acknowledgement and wishing a lovely week-end. It went very well with restricted outing. Our outing is limited to locality strolling. But it rained heavily. May God bless you and have a graet time.

Good day to you my friend. Ack! Yes, it is hard when we've laundered the official documents...so much time and explaining sometimes to get them replaced! Hope your weekend is relaxed and enjoyable. Karen

Hi :) Paper items get into the laundry a lot, and it's the ones that fall to pieces and get on everything that are the worst! I'm sure you'll find many things, as you've said, from your son's pockets. Hopefully not a frog or a worm or such lol. It happens! Karen

Hello Nitu. I'm sorry about the card. But as you pointed out, you have not forgotten to check your pockets since that, so perhaps a thing like that will never happen to you again. Have a blessed day :) Karen

Yes, I have many times accidentally put many things like pens, hair clips put in the pocket of skirts, bills, and even coins and notes many a times. This is because I do not check the laundry before putting in the washer many times.

Hi Yoga...money is a big one here I see, and yes, I've washed many pens. They do not survive the dryer though, if they get in there. Ack! Ink gets on everything! I hope you have a good day. Karen

Hello to you. Yes, phones and water just do not mix. I've had friends do the same. Money does okay, and hey, maybe the washing did your disk some good :) I'm glad that it still works! Karen

Thank you, Deepak :) It is a milestone, yes? Bless your wife for emptying your pockets. I sometimes checked but not always and have washed some astonishing things not meant for the laundry lol. Happy day! Karen

Yesterday I found my glasses case had been washed with my clothing. Luckily it is still alright and in fact it looks as good as new. It was in my bed when my baby was sick on it. I must have put the sheets and duvet cover in my washing machine and not noticed my glasses case.

LOL Maximax. Well now you know the case can be laundered. So cute! I hope your baby is better now or that is was just a routine "spit-up" thing. Have a great day. Karen

I did this and ruined a beautiful valuable old pocket watch, there was no way to save anything except the case, Hubby never really forgave me on that one. And I don't blame him.

Aww, that had to be a rough one, Pat. Watches seldom do survive the laundry, but it does happen. I am sure he will forgive you one day, but I know you must have felt awful about that. Hugs. Karen

Paper bills! I'd find them too soggy that I fear I might tear them while spreading them out to dry. I don't usually check the pockets of my husband's pants before putting them in the washer that is why sometimes things that need no washing would get washed along with the clothes.

Hello Blungel. The bills DO get quite soggy, yes? But they almost always dry without ripping, thank goodness. Not so tissues. They fall apart and get all over everything in the wash! Karen

Yup! And you already know about the most important one! I hate it when I leave unimportant things like paper towels in a pocket! Bits of paper everywhere, lol!

Hi Canellita...yes, your watch! LOL. You're right about papers, especially a Kleenex. All over everything! It's worse in a dark load lol. Have a wonderful day. Karen

Money. Generally when I change my pants I remove the money. I never had the habit of keeping it in the wallet. Once I forgot and left for the office. We had a help who does all this washings. Actually I thought I lost somewhere but next day my help came and gave it to me saying she had found this in the pocket. Some luck that is. She always checks all the pockets before getting down to the work.

Hi Meapas...yes, money is a common thing to find in the wash. We had a rule about that when my kids were all still home: finders/keepers lol. Nice that your help gave it back to you :) Karen

Hi Voldrox...yes, money has to be one of the dirtiest things, so the occasional wash doesn't hurt lol. Thank you for responding and have a lovely day Karen
