To Peel or Not to Peel?

When you eat an orange do you peel it first or do you just cut it up and eat it, sort of like the way you eat a watermelon? When I want to eat an orange by itself I will usually just cut it up and keep the peel on. But if I am going to make a fruit salad then I will go through the trouble of peeling it. Also do you throw your orange peels into the garbage disposal to fresh it up or use them in desserts or anything like this?

I always peel oranges before I eat them. I never really thought about just cutting it up and eating it. In fact, when I'm at a restaurant and there are orange slices on the plate, I will peel those before I eat them, too. Since I don't have a garbage disposal, I just throw the peels in the trash can.

It is new thing I hear about eating oranges like water melons.Generally we peel the oranges first before eating them. But it is somewhat difficult then to eat ever single piece inside and so I usually go directly for the juice.Just cut the orange into two pieces and squeeze it in the juicer and have a nice juice. That will be quite easy and simple.Cheers!

Hello. I prefer to cut an orange into wedges to eat. I was put off peeling oranges a long time ago 'cause the acid hurt my fingers (or the skin between nails and fingers) - given that I do keep my nails quite short and that does not allow for comfortable orange-peeling, if you know what I mean. Also, the skins go straight to the garbage in our house.

Hello, I usually peel the orange. If the peel too hard to peel then I will slice the orange. I dry the peels and put them into the garbage disposale to make it smell fresh instead of like garbage.I don't use them on desserts.

I always peel it. Maybe the only time when I donĀ“t is when we take oranges to a picnic. Then we cut it in half and eat them. But picnic times mean picnic manners too. We usually take harg boiled eggs, salt, cooked chicken and tomatoes. WE use the floor as table and chairs and peelings go to a bag to take home and throw away later.

For oranges, I normally peel.. They say if you cut an orange with a knife, it will make it taste sour. I will normally peel the skin and throw them away in my planting pot as a fertiliser.

it depends on how easy the orange is to peel. some oranges are really easy like clemintines but the bigger types are harder, so it really depends on the type. i really like oranges though, especially the ones that come out at christmas!
