I am sooo happy. My daughter has stopped smoking. I am very happy for her and it shows me that she is really taking this pregnancy serious. She is young and was pretty much "unprepared" to say the least, when she found out she was pregnant. She wasn't even sure if she was going to keep the baby, now she is making so many changes and I am starting to see her maturing. Do you know anyone that matured through pregnanacy?

First I wondered if it is maturity that stops a person from continuing to smoke; then I figured if it is because of pregnancy I would say yes. My own stopping wasn't maturity; it was just that continuing to smoke was causing more discomfort than stopping. And then there were the several people I have seen (my step-father being one) who developed health conditions that forced them to be dependent on oxygen tanks, and even that did not push them to stop; they would take the masks off and continue their habit. But I wouldn't accuse anyone who smokes of being immature. I know what it is like to be caught up in that addiction, and the discomfort most people feel when quitting. I heard stories that there were a few that didn't have withdrawal symptoms. But most suffer them, and it is no laughing matter. I like the quote, "Quitting smoking is easy; I've done it lots of times." Those who are very young, I wonder what kind of animals encouraged them to start, even if it was another group of kids, and if they are under 18, their suppliers are criminals, literally. At least in the state of California.

Hello friend, That's good for her and her baby.Having a baby or being an expectant mom,i guess she is taking care of her health and her baby too. This is a good sign, she can be a good mother and even is she is still young, her maternal instinct is showing she can be a good mom. Every woman i guess had this feeling, getting matured when thinking about their baby soon.
