there are many manufacturers of laptop now a days. There are many brands to choose from depending on the budget you got. High end laptops, like MAC book, sony vaio, toshiba and fujitsu, are very expensive (don't know why) and how are they called "high end". Altough prices depends mostly on the specs, but high end laptops are way more expensive than the others with the same specifications. With regards to this, which laptop brand or manufacturer do you really like most? (please state your reason why and if you have any experience, good or bad, with such brand, please share it also)

I'm on my third HP laptop in 14 yrs. I use their printers and cameras, never had any problems. When I was working they issued us Dells and we all had problems with them! I'm sticking with the HP brands. tdemex

I want to confirm, is HP and Compaq the same? And you mentioned that you have 3 HP in 14 years, which means average life for you laptop is almost 5 years. Do the older ones still work? And 5 years of laptop life long enough to your money's worth?

Sorry, I think i misunderstood and miscalculated. You're third laptop started at the 14th year. the first two lasted an average of 6.5 years each?

I personally love Macs. I use to have a dell and it kept breaking and whatnot. I had so many problems within the first 3 months of having the computer the motherboard fried 3 different times. When I switched to Mac, I haven't had any problems and I love the computer...granted they are more expensive, that's the biggest downfall, but I love the looks and how easy they are to operate.

Yeah, I wish there were more programs for Macs like different games and whatnot. But that's ok, my boyfriend has a PC so we can load the different games onto his computer.

Hi, I am also using MAC. The good thing I like with this is that its virus free, although there might be clever people who can make viruses for MAC. Another thing is that it is easy to uninstall programs, by just deleting the icon of the program in the applications folder. the only drawback perhaps is that there are fewer applications compared to windows.

So normally when i want buy a new laptop i will take into consideration 4 brands mainly and they are Hp,Dell,Ibm and sony-vaio!! In reality i had experiences with the first three and sony i haven't also because i never bought or worked on a sony computer and so considering also the prices of this brand i think it should be really too much expensive in many cases!! as regards hp i think it is the classical brand for computers or printers normally i had a good experience of the hp products because i noticed that if you have a correct use of them you should notice a long life from these products and even configurations normally are ok!! as regards ibm/lenovo in reality i liked more the notebook when it was only ibm when lenovo come the products are ok..but i don't trust as in the past anyway i think they have good prices, the hardware is ok and they are really suitable for business needs!! as regards dell in reality you can have a big deal because normally prices are really ok and you can choose your configuration online and so adopt that one you want and suitable for your needs!!The products as configurations and styles normally are really good the bad notes is that you can buy them only online so you can't see your laptop in your hands before buy it and may be this is a limitation also to figure about measures or weight in reality!! The other brands as toshiba, acer or apple i don't like normally ..apple because they are so expensive and the configuration is not so high as the price and even the macos i don't like as os!!Acer i think they have not so quality hardware for their pc and so for that normally they are nice from an external view and not expensive but they have not a long life...and toshiba in some cases the configuration did not like me so much!!

Yes i heard about these brands but you know toshiba can be ok..but normally i don't like the configurations...so i tend to exclude their laptop...fujitzu yes they ae nice from an external view but i never had the opportunity to proof one...and asus they are reallyy ok if youa re searching for a netbook..may be laptop they are not as good as the small netbook as eee pc series...

I'm using a Dell right now... and it is terrible. I have had all kinds of trouble with the pre-installed drivers randomly deciding to take the day off and giving out on me. Of course, this laptop (Inspiron 1300) was outdated when I got it years ago... but I reckon it is still functional.. I'll probably get a MacBook before heading to college next year. I know the price tag is big... but I rarely hear Mac owners complain about anything going wrong.

Its good to have a MAC book, but the cost is too much compared to other brands. But if you have enough budget then go for it. Its great to have one.

My favourite is lenovo. I like its keyboard and the light for keyboard in dark places. Its not costly too. I ve never used the ACCESS IBM button. I dk why its there. Macs and sony are not within my budget. They look good but I like choose value for money. Sony art series laps really look good but are very costly. My sister's dell laptop became a typewriter after an year. HP laptops tend to have a higher probs. Max laptops that got repaired in my coll dorm were HP. The lap screen of my friend's HP laptop went broke. It cost him a sum to replace. HP and dell could ve changed. If u need custom config u ll like DELL. But, lenovo has been good for very long.

I prefer DELL over any other brand because: - Quality of manufacturing, never have had a serious or unresolvable problem with a Dell computer. - Robustness of platform: Intel rocks. - ¡Easy hardware upgrades! - Customization - Affordable, Not expensive price as Sony computers, delicate ones! - Maybe not the best, but *decent* technical support and documentation. You can get all pc's service manuals from Dell's support site! - May sound dumb or pointless, but Dell has good fame! Aside Apple Macs, Dell servers/computers/laptop appear in almost every movie.

i love hp i think its the best computer for any user world wide ;P its not very expensive and doesn't give me a lot of problems, If i could choose any other than a hp i would choose a macbook, because it has a lot more to offer and I love the fact that you cant get any viruses.
