Is not new that most electronics must be well ventilated to avoid overheating, improve service life etc.

Why do i hear the external hard drive noises through my usb speakers?

I have a laptop with usb speakers and an iomega hard drive.

Everytime i connect the external hard drive i hear that noises coming from the drive are amplified by the speakers. Why? Please explain...
