What is your motivation for earning money online?

My husband, the reason I earn online - I can't imagine loving anyone more than I love my husband, so I do what I can to make sure we have everything we need. ^_^

I've met a lot of different people through earning money online and most of them have really interesting stories. Sometimes the most interesting thing about them, though, is what motivates them to earn a little extra money. My motivation, for the most part, is my husband. He works very hard so that I can work a part time job and go to college and so I feel like I can pitch in a bit by doing things online. Plus, most of the debt we're in right now is because of my college and such, so I feel like I should be doing more to contribute to paying off more of the bills. So what is your motivation for earning money online?

My motivation is that I am addicted to digital scrapbooking. All of the things that I have to buy for this hobby are purchased online and normally through paypal. I figure if I can make an extra few dollars per month then I don't have to feel guilty about indulging myself every now and then. Since I've become a mother most of our money goes into things for the kids, this way I can have a little something that is for me that doesn't come out of the monthly budget.

Oh, that sounds like a really interesting thing! I've actually never really tried it, but I love scrapbooking in general. I make scrap books for just about everything, which drives my husband insane. Do you use any sort of sites or anything that I might be able to look at? I'm pretty interested. I'm glad you get to do something for yourself. :) I know it's hard to get a chance to spend on you sometimes once you've got children. ^_^

There are so many good sites about digital scrapbooking. My favorite is digitalscrapbookpages.com they have decent tutorials and just a really good community in general. If you want to get started and don't have the money to buy things there is digifree.blogspot.com that does a freebie list every day. You'll need to have a graphic editing program of some sore photoshop elements is what I recommend and it is relatively inexpensive.

I already have a pretty good digital photo editing system. ^_^ I like to goof around with photos every once and a while...lol. Thanks for the sites. I'll definitely look into them. Sounds like something fun to be able to do. :)

I just graduated from college, or rather I'm currently waiting for the grades to go through so my diploma will finally come to me. I'm in debt well past my eyeballs because of college and I am working a full-time job right now that pays relatively OK, but even with what I make at my job, I'll need a little extra, or rather, having a little extra to add to the debt that I have to pay would be wonderful. It will help me pay off my student loan debt a lot faster.

well i have many motivations, my main one however is to get initial funding, im wanting to start a large company but doing so with little to no funds is on the border of impossible (ive managed so far to get certain things in place by selling services and such online througha website but i dont know how long i can hold my free host off before he deems my site a nuisance to his servers and tries to charge my hosting lol, i =m trying to build a company from the ground up and many could consider it the next apple or microsoft but its not due to the fact that my company goes beyond thier niche borders, ive always wanted to be successful and never was a person to settle for less, i do appreciate what i have of coarse but im always moving foward i not only hope to gain massive levels of financial freedom but also its my chance to help the economy and enviroment for i already have designs for devices to turn harmful factory emitions to oxygen and i have a great way to start a recycling project everyone will be participating in which not only helps the enviroment but also the economy and jobs for americans, i have so many ideas of coarse that you would never believe but it all starts with some funding lol which is the snag due to the fact ive never been rich nor nobility or even middle class , of coarse im going to change that but im having my work cut out for me doing it lol.

Wow, sounds like you've got some definite goals and like you know what you want and aren't afraid to go after it. That's generally a pretty good quality, in my opinion. Sounds like getting this business off the ground is going to be difficult, but I'm sure you can do it! Best of luck to you and I hope it works out. Earning online can definitely be a wonderful way to accomplish this. :)

Earning some money to pay my bills is my motivation of doing online jobs on the internet. I spend most of my spare time on the net that's why I'd rather use it productively.

That's a pretty good reason. I know a lot of people that spend all day on the internet without actually accomplishing much of anything (I used to be one of those people), so I decided that as long as I was going to be online I was going to do something productive, so here I am! Besides, what better motivation could there be than needing to pay bills on time? :)

That sounds like a wonderful motivation to me. Moving from one state to another can be a hard economic shift. My husband and I moved from the north to the south and pay and everything is completely different here. We're afraid that when we move back up north we won't be able to afford things for a while. Best of luck with your business. Sounds like a worth-while venture.

my motivation for earning online is i don't have a job. and i don't want people to step on me and look down on me just because i have money less and penniless. though i still live my family, meaning parents and siblings, being single still. i can't depend on them to buy things for myself specially i am not in good terms with them. so i have to find a way to support myself. and thankfully just in time, when i have exhausted all ways and means for me to have money, that the internet i discover can be a way for me to earn money. and until i am earning. enough to support my hobbies and things i need to buy. but i don't pay for my home bills. my family member does that. and i am trying to increase my monthly earning more so i can buy more things for myself like clothes i like or love to buy, and if i get to earn more i plan to buy gadgets which i have not able to afford for a long time. i can only afford to buy a cellphone. but not that often. i will like to have good earning that i can save money easily to buy for whatever affordable gadgets like digital cameras, LCD monitor, new cellphones. and other personal items. anyways, i am enjoying the things i do online and so it is great earning money while having fun. i stay mostly at home and i am not without anything to do. i do care for my family also. i have lots of personal responsibilities at home. so while i am doing those resonsibilities i do get online every day to earn money. i love this mylot cause it is fun when we can have some extra money. anyways, i was able to buy a lot of things cause i have earned well .

My motivation is I want to be home more for my daughter and since I have had health problems it is easier for me to stay home and work than go out to a company everyday. I like the freedom if setting your own hours, especially since I get tired very easily i can just stop and take a break when I need to.

I very much agree with you. I love the convenience of being able to stay home and work whenever you want. It's a lot different from having a job at a company. The pay can be just as good, too, if you know where to look.

Hi Phyrre. My personal motivation is that since I am a writer, doing my work online has offered so many different avenues to earn at work I love. Participating in sites like MyLot is just plain fun, educational, and interesting...so many people from cultures and countries all over the world. The money earned, though small, goes for little extras I may want or need. I also have a couple of blogs which earn a small amount, but that is a hobby and a way to reach out and help others or be helped by them that I truly enjoy. Great discussion! Karen

That sounds wonderful. I'm a writer, but not professional or anything. It's just a hobby of mine, so it takes a back seat to most other things, unfortunately.

For the time being I have no finacial problem, but the money is basically from my husband's contribution. I want to have some freedom so i chose websites to make my extra pocket money. It's a kind of work to me. so when i get paid i feel very happy. Usually my payment is vouchers for some depatment stores. When i spend it i feel i'm very rich. I think financial freedom can give me confidence so i would try my best to make more money online, even for now it's very mean. happy lotting.

You have an understanding husband. Making online money is slow and pays very little. I don't think it can help out much especially college fees are rather high. Working part-time is a much better option.

Well, I work full time and I'm looking to get a second job, as is he, but this is just supplemental income, as I said. I tend to make about $100 a month, all of which goes directly to the loans, on TOP of the other $100 we put towards all the loans anyway. So really, they get paid off that much faster and every little bit helps, of course. It's not like it's my main source of income, but just supplemental for that little bit of extra help. ^_^

My wife and I have a raised and put through college our 2 sons. In the meantime I had to be operated twice for calculi in pancreas. Guess you know what that means. Debt! Supplementary income is an honest way to tide over the debt crisis. That is the motivation.

Yes, I understand debt all too well. I'm sorry to hear that you had to have surgery, but I hope you're doing better now. My sister's in debt because she had to have an appendectomy and she didn't have health care at the time. I hope you can earn enough to help with the debt.

I earn money online as just a little bonus for me. It's important since I am unemployed for right now.

I can see how that would definitely be a bonus! When you're unemployed (or even if you are employed) it's important to have that extra source of income!

hmm good question. Actually i don't think i have any motivation right now. Just that i find that the site is genuine and not a fraud so i take interest and give my time over here and two, three other places as well. Right now i am not having any job and find it worth to spend my time online by earning :)

I guess not having a job is motivation in itself! Without a source of income it can be difficult and working online gives you at least some sort of income. Sounds to me like that's a rather good motivation to earn. :) I know a lot of people that are exactly like that, who don't have jobs except to earn money online.

well, I joined mylot just for the lark…I enjoyed and still do, interacting with people from all over the world. Earning online is not my aim but I guess the more I participate the more I earn and it does feel good to have some extra money. I use the money to buy expensive cosmetics which are otherwise unaffordable to me…so you can say, that is my sole motivation.

I think that's a really good motivation, to want to meet new people rather than going solely for the money. Sure the money's always a nice benefit, but I agree with you that it's nice to meet new people and to get the chance to have some interesting discussions.

Hi phyrre, The most obvious motivation is the money itself lol. I used to browse earlier and get commented upon by others , that I was wasting my time. Then a friend introduced me to an online review and article writing site from where I could earn some money. This led to other similar sites and discussion sites etc; I am glad that I am now able to use the net to make some money of my own , and, at the same time am enjoying myself - all the best and happy mylotting

Well, some people have motivations besides just the money. I mean, some people have things that motivate them to want the money in the first place, not just to have money. ^_^ I think it's important to enjoy yourself when you work online otherwise it gets a bit too tiresome.

HI, nice topic. Well I guess what motivates me to earn money online is when I get to see my notebook full of pictures and cutouts of items and stuffs that I wanted to buy myself, my family and my loved ones. I guess that is what makes me motivated to earn and save money so that I will be able to buy the items I really needed and wanted. And of course, to also help my family. It would be lovely to see them having a gift from me, even if it's not yet their birthday or Christmas, i have given them a simple token. I can also say that earning money online helps in paying bills. So it will make yo even try and work harder so that you get to see your goals achieved. Happy Myloting.

I like the idea of keeping a notebook with pictures of things you want. It's a great way to keep you motivated and remind you of what you're working for! It's wonderful that you want to do so much for your family and I wish you the best in working towards those goals.

A few things, like getting my account to reach 1000$ so that it can have interest. second, to refill my skype account, since my mom had been using it to call dad every other day. and finally(optional) spend a lot on other stuff than just buying cat food. nothing else.
