I went over to my mother's house to drop off some things I got for her when I went shopping... her front door was wide open and she was standing there re-arranging some items in her curio cabinet. She was stark naked, although her lips were slathered with mulberry colored lipstick and a pair of matching earrings were dangling down from her ears. Does anybody else have such a weird mother??

I have no idea what I would do if I saw my mom naked cleaning the house...especially with the door wide open lol. Does she do that often? Maybe she was expecting company...

Well, she rarely has any clothes on over there... I guess she was just in the mood to 'dress up' a little. Hehehehe... she looked like she was expecting company, all decked out in her 'Sunday go to meetin' attire!

Possibly in the other extreme. Mine never went sky clad, but once when I visited her she was wearing a pink lace summer blouse over a red woolen winter skirt, and I think yellow socks. I said, "Your clothes are incongruous" and she replied "Don't you come over here using those big words on me!" and "At lest my skirt doesn't come halfway up to my armpits like yours!" (Mine was a 1/2 inch above the knee, so she considered me a floozy) Ignoring that, I explained that what I meant was that the colors clashed. Her response was, "All God's colors go together." Was your mum always so uninhibited, or is this a new pattern of behavior?

LOL--mmmm...no high-heeled shoes? My mother was weird in other ways but she was exact opposite of yours in that she was very modest and didn't liked to be seen naked at all--she always liked to be "covered up"

Well, high heels used to be part of the 'package', hehehe... when we lived in Hollywood one of her best friends owned a bar on Sunset Blvd where she would get up after closing and dance on the bar with nothing on but her high heels. When we lived in San Francisco she interviewed the guy who was remodeling our kitchen in her bubble bath. Gawd, mothers! Where would we be without them??

Wow, that must have been almost half a shock for you. I bet that could attract some neighbors while driving others away. My mother is weird but not quite that weird, I like when she starts to hear reason in an argument against her, instead of listening, she will stick her fingers in her ears and scream lalalalalalala at the top of her lungs. All because, she has to be right, and doesn't want to hear that she wasn't. LOL - Good story, Cheers.

Well, it wasn't a shock because she rarely wears any clothes around her house, but it is a little uncomfortable for me... I don't go over there too often because of that, but I thought it was pretty funny with the lipstick and earrings. As I carried her stuff into the kitchen she trailed along behind me carrying a caftan... trying to fake me out that she was going to put it on. But the neighbors can't really see in... her front yard looks like sleeping beauty's castle (all overgrown with every kind of plant imaginable, you practically need a machete to get in), plus there is a screened in porch with honeysuckle covering it. Hehehehe, I put my fingers in my ears and sing "I'm not listening" whenever anybody tries telling me horror stories that will make me feel bad to listen to. But yep, you're mother sounds a little nutty too!
