I used to love seeing him on tv and I was fortunate to have seen in live once. If you don't remember him, or if you would like to re-enjoy, here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcV19rylSZc:) I am a great fan of classical music, but maybe I wouldn't be if it wasn't for people like Victor Borge, that made classical music something completely different from the boring view I had before. That made it something ligth, and even fun. - There used to be these concerts in London during the summer, I don't even remember the name but it was great and it sure got me interested in classical music too. I am mentioning all this, because today I received an email from a friend, with a youtube link. As I listened to it, and checked the site, Victor Borge came to mind - I actually think that they have been influenced by him, which doesn't take anything from their talent and humor. This is the link she sent me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvlCu1_noTc&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.igudesmanandjoo.com%2Fdefault.asp%3Fshow%3Dpage%26id%3D2327&feature=player_embedded Of course I went to check some more of their videos both in youtube and their own website and had a great time watching them all:) Yes, I do like classical, but I don't believe it always has to be all rigid and proper.Fun like this, can make more people enjoy classical music - and make them want to learn more about it. So....Do you like classical music? Do you enjoy it when someone uses it with humor, or do you feel that it has to be all serious and strict? What are your favorite composers? I have a huge list because, like with all other kinds of music, I tend to be very eclectic and love one or two from each composer LOL Some of my favorites are Rimsky-Korsakov ( love Sheerazade )Beethoven's Monlight Sonata, Liszt sonate in B minor, Rachmaninoff a lot of favorites, Bach -favorites are too many to name-, Ravel and Debussy...hmm maybe I should have written the ones I don't like instead LOL Anyway, your turn....

I do. I love classical music, but prefer the soft and sweet versions. Some of the wild and turbulent stuff that goes from very low to excruciatingly loud has too much contrast for me. Today we are also listening to Purcell's Dido and Aneas, featuring Janet Baker and the London Chamber Orchestra. Don't forget Pachelbel.

Yes, Pachelbel:):)And other that would make my list way too long LOL I don't mind some contrasting sof/low combination depending on my mood at the time I'm listening. I just discovered Kremata Baltica and have been enjoying. Although the one I was listening to was from Mozart and I'm not extremely fond of his music.

I am not much to into music, but yes, I do remember Victor and he was so funny. He was enjoyable to watch and listen to and he did it in such finesse and style that even the boring stuff he played (piano) wsan't as boring when he did his little talks and things. He was very enjoyable

He certainly was. And making classical music something light and fun made me feel more interest in it, until I gained a deeper appreciation for classical.

He's always been one of my favourites, and of course he's also DANISH so that makes him even better!!! :) I remember Mormor and Morfar (Danish for Mom's Mom and Mom's Dad) and I watching his stuff on TV, when I was growing up. They had several videos, which I think my mother has now. I need to get some of his stuff on DVD.

Yes, I thought you would know him:) I really enjoy it and as I said, maybe if it wasn't for him and some others that really made classical music fun and made us want to hear the rest , I might not be the fan I am today .

Absolutely, he was incredibly talented and not stuffy either. I love him in phonetic pronunciation, I think it was called. If you go to YouTube there are a bunch of his videos. If you down load miro, you can download from miro and watch the videos without an internet connection. I just did an ipod playlist of classical music for work. I also clean to the classic. Listening to sabre dance really can get you moving. My husband loves Moonlight sonata. Check out PDQ Bach for humorous classical music.

The phonetic punctuation still makes all of us laugh. I have checked quite a few in youtube and saved them because I really like them. Going to check pdq bach :)
