Who is your favourite stand up comedian?

Who is your favourite stand up comedian and why? Firstly i like Russell Brand, i find his controversial style of humour very amusing, not that i agree with the large part of it but his balls alone make me laugh, i cannot believe he can come out with some of the stuff that he does. I also like Jimmy Carr, another controversial comedian but he is a little bit on the tame side comapred to Russel Brand. I find some of Jimmy Carr's humour to be genius. Others that i like include Jim Davidson and Lee Evans.

My favorite is Dave Chappelle. I'll watched two of his shows and they were both very funny. Eddie Murphy also had a good show he did like 2 decades back but it was still very funny.

I think Eddie Murphy was excellent in "his day" but he's kind of let it go ever since and he's not quite the same anymore, he seems to be just making a lot of humourous films for children lately.

Unfortunately, I had forgotten about him when I posted! Dave Chappelle is also one of my favorites. He is so funny! Too bad he doesn't do his show anymore. I watched it all the time. I loved it when he impersonated Lil' Jon.

It's really sad when they stopped the show. I love the Lil Jon skits. When I feel bad, I watch those skits over and over again til I can't breath laughing. I didn't have the chance to watch Eddie Murphy as stand up comedian but I like him as an actor.

My favourite well known comedian is probably Ricky Jervais. I love his show "extras" and of course "the office". His humor is witty/intelligent and not just disturbing as many comedians think its amusing to shock people. My all time favourite comedian though has to be Rhys Darby a New Zealand comedian. He is also known for playing Brett and Jermaines manager in ''Flight of the Conchords''. Jimmy Carr is hillarious too.

I never really "get" Ricky Gervais to be honest, im not sure if its because i dont pay so much attention to his or if its because he is pretty subtle compared to some of the other comedians that i watch.

I love all of the members of Blue Collar Comedy-they each offer a different type of comedy, and I don't really have a favorite, because I don't think I could choose which one was best! I also like Carlos Mencia, although he is quite racy and downright discriminating at times, but the funny things is he makes jokes about all people, and does not target any one race or group of people.

My favorite of all time, has unfortunatly passed on. George Carlin......gosh he was so hilarious...granted always a bit on the raunchy, controversial side, but if you can't laugh about something, that just makes it even scarier and worse in your mind. Besides good old george, i have always gotten a kick out of a lot of Bill Cosby's stand up. As for recent acts, i really do enjoy Dane Cook a lot.

Top of top, George Carlin (RIP). Next, Chris Rock. And Rowan Atkinson's stand up is amazing too. Dave Chapelle also is a good one. Jimmy Carr beat Russel, in my standards .. sorry ..

My favorite comedians are Mitch fatel and Doug Benson, in that order! Mitch Fatel is so funny..... SUPER RETARDO! All of Doug Benson's work is great. I love that VH1 appreciates him and hired him for a couple of shows. Whatever happened to best week ever??

I like Jimmy Carr; Frankie Boyle; Russell Howard; Lee Mack; Ricky Gervais; Eddie Izzard... I think Lee Evans is better as an actor than a comedian.

I don't watch very many comedians becaus they don't seem to be able to be humorous without being nasty. Sorry, I am just that way. I do like Brian Regan... if that's his name. He's really funny and down to earth. I also like some of the old timers, like Bill Cosby he's funny and clean. It's just gotta be clean for me.

I have so many favorite stand up comedians, some of them I watched on comedy central. My most favorite is Dave Chappelle. The most funniest man in the television. His show is the best sketch comedy ever too bad they cancelled it. I have season 1-2, the lost episodes and for what its worth DVD. Besides Dave, I also love Kat Williams. He's really crazy sometimes on stage. And my runner ups are Chris Rock, Pablo Francisco and Wanda Sykes.

I've recently discovered Jamie Foxx and I've got his impression of OJ saved as a favourite on youtube, oh and his Prince sketch. I like Chris Rock. Eddie Izzard can make me incapable with laughter, and so Billy Connolly. Alan Carr as well, but I do like a bit of camp humour. There's probably loads I like.
