My 23 year old son was turning down the road in his truck that leads to our home when a small dog ran out in front of him and he hit it. He didn't even know he hit a dog thought he ran over a limb he wasn't going fast the dog was small he just didn't know. When he got home and got out of his truck a truck was flying down our driveway a man got out and screamed u ran over my dog my son said he didn't know and didn't mean to and said he was sorry , well the man said I got something for u went to his truck and got a baseball bat he hit my son in the head and sped away!!!!! We pressed charges and was in the er till 2am we love dogs have 4 of our own, I'm still in shock! People are crazy!!!!!

That is insane, and I can't believe someone would do that! You know, using anything as such as a weapon to hurt someone can have a devastating factor on the person, as it can be used to really instill pain or injury on someone. Good for you for pressing charges. That jerk should pay for that! Of course it was an accident. This guys seems a little more than off his rocker.

Has your son and the violent man been to court yet? For what he did, what was his punishment? I would imagine at least he would have some anger management clesses. Did he end up getting arrested the night of the incident? Let us know what comes of it!

This happened last Friday, the police arrested him saw him in his yard Sunday. I guess they'll b a court date I'm not sure how it works.

I can see him being upset but to carry it that far is just crazy. We have 2 beagles, and if tag (the male one) gets loose he is a car chaser, so i have to keep a eye on him, because the road is the first place he runs to. I would be crushed if he ever gets hit by a car, but i would not blame the driver because the dog should not be in the road in the first place.

It's only natural that the owner of the dog would have been upset that his dog had been hit by a car. I would be upset over it as well, but I know that I wouldn't attack a person over it. I would have followed the person that accidentally hit my dog to their house and I would have tried to talk to them in a civil manner and request that they take care of the vet bills, etc. I would not, however resort to violence, especially if the person said that they didn't realize they did it.
I don't know your son, but because of the fact that you said you all are animal lovers, I bet if your son would have known that he'd hit the dog he would have stopped right then.
