Do you own one? Do you shred those credit applications that come in the mail?
I have owned several shredders. I shred those applications because tearing them up isn't enough. I watched a clip that showed where people tape the torn ones back together and apply for credit. Anyone can go through your garbage and do the same and there goes your good credit rating! Lets hear your answers and if anyone has scammed on your credit.

I shred anything that has my details, accounts, bills, address, application forms like the credit ones, receipts that I dont need, Atm receipts. My 7 year old loves using the shredder and once a week we sit and I work out what to be shredded and he shreds it.

That is great! I think involving the children in family project is good. I miss not having kids around to do that. They have lives of their own now. One day your son will be able to understand why we need to protect our personal information. Thanks for the family tip!

Yes, we own a paper shredder. Yes, we shred all the credit card applications, as well as loan offers to refinance the house, and any other "junk mail" that could be used by someone to commit fraud. We have been lucky to not have had any problems, but it is a growing concern. This type of crime is growing leaps and bounds in America, and we all need to be vigilant about our credit ratings. Great topic.

I wold think that if I ripped it up in to 6 pieces, there is no way the credit agency would take the app.
I do own a shedder, but it packed somewhere. I guess I should break it out. LOL

We own one and use it very often. Anything with our name and address gets shredded. Its not safe to throw anything away that has anything of importance on it.

We own one but it doesn't always work. I've found a pair of scissors is much more reliable.
