i have always wanted to live near the water with a light breeze and fresh seafood and fruit . so a few times a year i get such a desire to move that i start research on an islands cost of living , schools, etc. my husband works for a large co. with offices all over the world so he would transfer thats the easy part. i just have this feeling that i should be living some where different. it's possible that i would want to move some where else after living near the water but who says we have to stay in one place? why should we?

You sounds like my husband. Every year when our lease here being renew, he starts talking about moving near the beach, 2 years ago florida, last year jamaica...o, and three years ago Bali, Indonesia. I was born and grew up in tropical country. Hot every single day. So I'm not as excited as he is. But I do understand how it is feel. LOL... The first 5 years of our marriage we moved from one place to another and now I'm done. hahaha...my kids need to be rooted somewhere.

I don't know if I ever consider MOVING to a tropical place, but I would NOT mind taking an extended, tropical vacation.. to the Bahamas, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Cancun..Or even just California or Florida. Anywhere would do! So I know what you mean. A lot of us are stuck in one place, though, mainly due to finances and responsibilities at home. But I think we're all entitled to taking at least one vacation a year. To keep us sane, that is.

Yes I do,right about the time there's 30-50 feet of snow on the ground. I say that because I'm the one who usually has to shovel it out. It is by the far the most back breaking work I have ever done in my life. A couple of years ago the snow was so high in our front yard that the branches of our tree were covered. I never want to live through that again

I love to travel, in particular to tropical islands. I love to see an aquamarine sea, palm trees and a white sandy beach. I adore going snorkeling to see colorful fish and attractive looking coral. I live in a cool country in Europe so tropical countries are not so nearby. I have been to St Lucia in 1991, to Hawaii and Fiji in 1993, to Penang and Tioman Island in 1994, to French Polynesia and the Cook Islands in 2001 and to Samoa in 2002. In 2004 I went to the Seychelles and in 2005 I visited the Maldives. I went to Caye Caulker in Belize in 2006. I would adore it if I could live in Belize. Now I have a disabled toddler son it wouldn't be easy for me to move to a tropical country. I do live near to the beach in my home country. I love living with a view of the countryside and on the edge of a coastal town.

i think it's great you have been able to travel so much. i know a few people who have been to belize would love to move there as well. i think for me it would have to be panama, it is a beautiful place in it's own right. i hope you continue to travel and show your son the world it might be harder now but it would be worth it, for him and you to share this.

i wish i had the money to do stuff like that. well i don't know about exactly doing what you do but i don't have the finances to travel like that. i would just be happy to be able to go places like that and would be satisfied without having to move there. i really don't understand what the big deal is about your decison. i would just accept what i felt like doing at the time. basicly i think your fine do what your doing.

thank you for you comment. if you want to travel start working for one of the large hotel chains after sometime you can apply for open positions in other countries and transfer.

Sound like a nice idea. It must be relaxing to live in a place like that. I always dream on having a house near a beach or a stream with beautiful flowers around. But I don't think I'll go as far as relocating myself there. For now I still have responsibility here and I don't think I'll able to move out for a few years more.
