woah, that was a lot of questions on one go Well, I think you may be referring more of personal satisfaction rather than job satisfaction. That's because, we all can be satisfied with our jobs even if it isnt what we really wanted to do for the rest of our lives. Compensation is also a contributing factor for job satisfaction. If we get good compensation, we can be satisfied with our job despite of it being monotonous. But, even if we are just satisfied with our jobs, that doesnt mean we really love it. If its not what we want to do, or its not our passion, kinda like being an office clerk when you really want to be a painter, then over time even with the job satisfaction and high compensation, we would want to fulfill our dreams as an individual.

Most people do wish to seek that. I mean get or be in the job that they really want. Those so-called "dream job". With the economy today that you have mentioned, people are more practical and jobs starting to be privileges, they will get any good job that they can get so as to live by daily. Its good to know though that there are some who are lucky enough to obtain their "dream jobs". It gives the rest of us some hope that maybe someday we'll get our dream jobs as well.^_^

yeah, nothing is impossible if we really put our hearts and mind to fulfill one's desires. But, on the meantime when the world economy is under recession their is no need to be choosy to get any job that will gives income if not sufficient but at least their is earning than to become a vagabond.

yap, and we do to fulfill the work which we get even it is not entirely our passion, because it is better to have resources of good income rather than none. But, we could gain both job satisfaction and high compensation, if ones really seek his dream job and at the same time it offers good salary..then, it is a vision than turn into a reality...

for me i do prefer to be compensated well because of the economic crisis and the cost of living.many would rather choose many over compensation.i am working for many reason, first i want to help my parents by giving money for their medication and food allowances.somehow job outcome matters and co-related to work.it you do your job very well and effecientcy you will then be promoted to higher position and may increase your salary too.

yeah, giving all your best 100% efforts is the key to obtain job satisfaction and the main requirements you love your jobs. But, you get a point in this times of global crisis recession having income is good even it is low or high as long as one have sources of income despite being not being satisfy with your present jobs. It is still better to stay than becoming choosy.

I always settled for the job when it came to the compensation. I really never did enjoy any of the jobs I did, even though I did very good work. I am glad to work at home now even though I make less money doing so.

It is better to earn an income rather than no job. Whether it pays you low or high what matter is you earn which add to the family income.

Can I have both. Although it is impossible to have both, I wish I have both. Okay let me analyze my workplace. About Job satisfaction, at work I am a multitasker, even if the Job is not part of my job description I still do it in order to not sacrifice my deadline. SOme people here are insensitive enough and having amnesia when we are talking about a job to finish. All kinds of crap are in here, monster, aliens, predators are present in teh office during deadlines. They are all did not understand each other. So I feel sorry for myself because I have to force myself to do it. Sacrifice again. If I made a mistake, all eyes are on me. It is like hey did you just born yesterday, it seems you don't know your job and you will found me answering badly, is that my job? and everyone will quickly disappear. So the boss will found out and in a minute you will receiving a memo. But if the job is well done, you will not even hear a single thank you , I never been appreciated. So job satisfaction , erase, erase, cross, cross, cross. Job compensation, OH MY GOD, this is much worse. I only have my regular pay out and a itsy bitsy tini winnie allowance. We have 13th month pay, benefits and little bonus during christmas. But if you ask me if it is okay , my answer is this, transfer yourself to call center jobs. To finalize my agony, I want to choose job satisfaction. Money can buy you anything, but money can't buy your conscience and peace of mind. It can make you rich but it cannot lead you to growth for yourself. I want to be well compensated on the fact that I have done my job, with greatness.I want to be compensated because I had done my job whole heartedly and truly. And appreciation from high rank people like my boss is holyness. So if I am appreciated even if there is no money involved I am well compensated.

I appreciate your eagerness and being decisive with your work. It is truly a mark of responsible and being committed to do your work as describe by your function and duties. Some people just like you have ever wish and dream of the same things having both job satisfaction and good compensation. But, they are likely the opposite one may be receiving good compensation but no job satisfaction and others are satisfied with their jobs even with lower compensation. This may be traced from the management good treatment of their subordinates. But, in reality absence of anyone would often lead to dissatisfaction. In some cases no matter how we love our jobs we transfer to other company to earn higher incomes while other who are already old accept the jobs even it is not highly compensated because they no longer have no choice. Then, the young and talented individuals search for more greener pastures and apply to high income companies. In your cases you want both and even with less compensation as long as you satisfied with your job you will choose it rather than staying in a high income company where you are not comfortable most with regards with your working situation.

I think this would depend upon the stage of life I am at. If I am very young, then I would opt for compensation because if I dont really like the new job, I can quit and start looking for new employment. But if I am older, then I will review whether I can take any such setback. If I cant, I will stick to the safety of job satifaction. If, however, I have managed to save enough for some risk, I would take the risk. What have I got to lose. :-)

Yeah, you are right. When you are young you have a fickle mind to change job from one another. But, when you get old, the desires tendency to change becomes rare when one gets older their are lesser opportunity to get new employment. As most of the jobs are focus on the sales and marketing front runners are mostly hires are young and fresh graduates which serves as a tough competition to older..
