What is it about South Park that people like?

I got curious about South Park. I thought it was funny family cartoon series. I thought it was a children's show. Then I saw many adults showing their interest in the show. So I decided to watch the South Park movie. The children were talking adult stuff and swearing. At first I thought they were just being funny. Then it continued throughout the movie. Towards the end there was so much swearing and adult stuff that it became distasteful and disgusting. The whole movie was just to prove one simple point.
Do you like the show or hate it? Give reasons.

The irreverance and stupity of it. It is amazingly obsurd. I find no redeaming factors in the show just like I never did Married With Children. That is another one that irritates me to no end.

I think including Moview, we go to such places for variety of relaxation and entertainment, if there is nothing other than only one theme, it would be boring to watch. For want of variety, I too would discard it. May God bless You and have great time.

I have never watched this show. I have heard about it though. It is not my type of show either. My daughter said she has watched a few times too and she does not like it either because of the language.

I actually quite personally think it's funny. Yes it has swearing and adult stuff in it, but if you are mature about it then you can laugh about it and understand it. If you are not mature, then you shouldn't be watching it. Lots of kids also watch South Park, I know I did when I was a child, and I loved it and laughed at it!

It's not a family fun kind of cartoon series. It is for an adult audience..that's for sure. I have seen a couple of really funny episodes but I'm not a huge fan of it. There have been episodes that go a little to far and are borderline offensive to people. I have a good sense of humor but I know where you are coming from. I was really surprised when I saw it the first time too.
