I love to read so I am constantly reading something. I always have a book in my hand or close to me. I love to read romances, they are my favorite. I will read historical, medieval, contemporary, paranormal, Scottish, and Irish. I will read fiction, if it is one of my favorite authors. I will sometimes read a mystery, but not horror. I will also, on occasion, read biographies, if it interests me.

Hello my dear mohitseth Ji, Even today, at this age we both (me and my hubby) are fond of social and detective books. WE read them. My hubby has a habit 'START AND END'. He may take 2-3 hrs, but wants to finish within time frame. But mostly, while travelling including in local buses. May God bless You and have a great time.

Oh, I am very much in the habit of reading. I can read 2 or 3 books a week and if I don't have a book to read then I feel lost. While I will read pretty much any fiction there is, I prefer Fantasy. I've tried chick-lit, suspense, mysteries, inspirational, and thrillers but Fantasy is just so much more exciting to me. I love the kind of fantasy that takes place almost completely in its own world, like Lord of the Rings or Chronicles of Narnia.

Well I'll read anything that interests me enough, but usually, my favorite genre tends to be romance. But not JUST romance, there has to be a good plot and the characters have to be very well rounded. I also tend to like adventure stories, thriller plots, such as stalkers, psycho-paths, etc, and I love the really touching romances where it just has such a meaningful story.

I read various types of novels. However, I would have to say that I prefer mystery and suspense novels. With all the novels and genres of novels that I read, I think that mystery and suspense novels still remain my favorite. They have been my favorite literary genre for a really long time, since I was a kid.

I love detective stories and thrillers. Anything my Val McDermid, Linda La Plante, Reginald Hill or Colin Dexter will always keep me enthralled till the last page. I also like historical fiction, particularly if it's set in Tudor or Victorian times, or during WWII. It has to have a good story and I have to be able to connect with the leading characters. I get so involved in some novels that I feel as if I'm living the novel myself.

I consider myself a wide reader, but it seems, more often than not, I pick books lumped up into either the science fiction or fantasy category. More specifically, stories about magic and time travel fascinate me, so these are the novels that line up my shelf. My favorite science fiction authors include Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, the author who wrote Minority Report whose name actually can't be written on myLot, Cory Doctorow, and Orson Scott Card. They are really prolific writers about time travel so if you have the same interests as I am, I suggest you get a copy of their books. My fantasy fiction favorites consists of the works by Jim Butcher, George RR Martin, Piers Anthony, and Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman. Give their stories a whirl and I believe you'll really get hooked.

Hi Mohitseth, Wow my taste in books is surprisingly similar to the person responding to this topic before me (the one who likes James Patterson and Dean Koontz in case someone replies before me again). I love those books and authors as well. Added to crime and mystery novels I also really enjoy historical books, especially those set in Ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece. I love being transported into another world and living it for a while. The Alexander Series of novels by an Italian author whose name I can't remember, did that best for me. I had to have a 4 day recovery period before I could read another book, I had got that enthralled! Occasionally I also like the autobiographical type novels which shows how a person overcame the hardships and challenges life threw at them, the Boy Called It series of books are my favourite of those. On a similar vain I also enjoy novels about life, like those written by Virginia Andrews, as long as the characters again face hardships. Actually from writing this I think that I enjoy any genre of book as long as the people go through some form of transformation due to mental anguish lol! All the best, Dranz
