I Could Not Resist This Fantastic Shop-portunity!!!

Canada

A few minutes ago I discovered a coupon in my e-mail for 30% off of anything at Borders. I also remembered a gift card that Walker had given me, that he'd cashed out for just before the PayPal option was offered, and just before coming to Canada. The question was, what would we do with a Borders gift card in Canada? LOL He gave it to me back in June, and I ordered Savo Heleta's book "Not My Turn To Die" (sheleta.gather.com), and another one I'd wanted to read. There was still $7.02 left on the card, which I decided to save for later. With the 30% off coupon, and $7.02 on a card, I wondered what I should order. I looked at the little table at the end of my bed, and saw the first three seasons of Frasier DVDs sitting there. I decided that I should probably order the fourth season, as I've been wanting it for quite a while. DVD $29.99 Shipping $05.98 (Remember, I'm in Canada) 30% -$09.00 SUBTOTAL $26.97 Gift card -$07.02 TOTAL $19.95 USD Converted $21.95 CAD Out Of Pocket, shipping included. Not bad at all!!! To sweeten the pot even more, Borders.com is an Airmiles affiliate, offering 1 Airmiles for $20 spent. My Airmiles Master Card also offers 1 Airmile for ever $20 spent, so that means I earned 2 Airmiles from this purchase. I could have just left it in American dollars, and put it on my Bank of America check card, but if I can earn an extra airmile, and with the Canadian dollar at $0.9299 USD, I could not resist. Now I just have to wait for my DVDs to get here. Anyone else have any interesting "shop-portunities" today? :)

That is pretty good. I get alot of amazon giftcards for my various online pursuits and last month I was able to order a really nice blender. It cost me all of 4.90 including shiping. It would have been free if I had been able to get one of the other gift certificates I have to work. It is really nice when you can get good stuff for next to nothing!

I haven't found any super great deals lately, just haven't had the money to do any shopping. I do have high hopes that money will rain down from the sky though and then I figure that I will go shopping and get me some books and DVD's!! My two favorite things! LOL

Can't shop right now, and I don't have the little goodies you have. But I will tell you that there is a toolbar Airmiles has that you can get Airmiles just for using their Yahoo search engine. Every 50 searches nets you 5 Airmiles for a maximum of 300 searches a month. If you want the toolbar, let me know. My daughter is going to Belarus next year for the World Champion Taekwodo Tournament and I need 8,000 Airmiles to get her there!

One of my favorite online stores (Woman Within or Roamans) had a bra sale. I had not bough a new bra in at least 5 years and the one I had gave no support they had been washed and worn so many time. When I checked out their sale I saw they had a special buy 4 bras within a year and get one free. So I went ahead and bought 4 half price bras and qualified for the freebie. It was for $30.00 so I found $29.99 bras with a buy one get one free promotion! Woohoo I got two bras for $29.99 and only had to pay $1.99 shipping. IMO that was a great deal!

Awesome. I hope the DVDs will get to your door real soon. Me and husband also are always on the lookout for vouchers on newspapers and online. Sometimes, supermarkets offer a £5 off when you spend £30 in the shop but you have to buy the newspaper where the coupon is printed. Sometimes my husband gets the newspaper from his work. Sometimes we buy and they only cost 40p anyway. Online we always get the 50% offer by Pizza hut. Every little helps!
