'Abusive 98 year old evicted' - Can this ever be justified?

I've just been reading about a 98 year old lady who has been evicted from her home in Southampton, because of anti social behaviour. Can this really ever be justified? She now only has 28 days to find a new home. I personally cannot see how anybody can see any justification in 'throwing' an elderly lady of that age onto the streets. Anybody disagree?

Age does not always bring wisdom and good manners, there are several instances of deplorable people who have got old and just continue to be a real nuisance to their neighbours. They have been given ASBO's (anti-social behaviour orders) just like kids who do the same - no reason why they shouldn't be treated in the same way as louts if they are doing the same thing. If it was a 17 year old doing the same thing I guess most people would be happy with having them punished - If the aged want to be treated with respect they have to be reasonable in their behaviour. If there was any hint of mental illness then she would not have been given the order, so she must just be a trouble-maker regardless of her age. So yes, I disagree, age alone does not qualify you to be a total nusiance to your neighbours

This woman most likely has a form of dementia which, unfortunately my husband's family and I have some experience with. My husband's father's personality changed at some point and he became very mean...so much so that we all kept the great grandchildren and other children away from him. He was verbally and could become physically abusive as well. My husband's brother lived nextdoor to him so he took care of him the most and neither he nor the old man's doctor could convince him to try any kind of medication to help with his moods or his outbursts. As much as the family loved my husband's father throughout their lives, in the end very few of us could take it anymore. I feel bad for this woman but I also believe that her neighbors have probably been put through a lot.
