Well not really but, I was reading about how California is so broke that it had to start closing the courts one day out of the month. "Due to the unprecedented statewide fiscal crisis, the Supreme Court of California, the Courts Appeal, and all superior courts will be closed the third Wednesday of every month, beginning September 16, 2009." Now, if the economy is recovering why is it the courts have started to close to save money? http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-329547

Hi Zeph, maybe it just has too many criminal elements blocking up the docks, or too many frivolous causes for the budget. Either they should legalise some things or stamp on some of those ridiculous things which reach the courts there, they do tend to drag on a bit. Or they could privatise the court system.

Well it is California so either criminals or frivolous cases could jam the system. But, the state of California has been so broke that they had to write IOU's to people that were going to get a state income tax refund. "Or they could privatise the court system. " No, it's against the Constitution. What they should do is quit electing those elephants

I presume they managed to turn the electric back on in California. See I'm out of date with American politics but I'm going to get back into it. What they should do is replace the politicians with very dull accountants and everything would run much more smoothly, but the really dull kind, not flashy bankers.

Ha ha, you're funny Michelle. The economy is not turning around but the states are getting money for nothing.

Because the state is still broke no matter what the economy does.
