Happy little eight year old inside of me

Well Mary Travers' death the other day prompted me to pull out the Peter, Paul and Mary cds (two of which are missing boo) and play them. Now I love a lot of their songs. I've loved Where Have All the Flowers Gone since Girl Scouts. I love Leaving on a Jet Plane. I'm very fond of Puff the Magic Dragon, and Don't Think Twice It's All Right and many others. But my favorite? The Marvelous Toy. If you haven't heard this one, check it out on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIl8JMkPylM Why do I love this song so much? Well it's partly the 8 year old in me trying to get out again. And I think it would be awfully cool to have had a toy like that, yep I do. But the main reason is pretty simple. It makes me happy. Music can be spiritual or tell a story. It can do many things. This one makes me happy. Dawn starts singing and dancing around the room. Do you have a favorite song that makes you happy?

mUSIC HAS ALWAYS BEEN A BIG PART OF MY LIFE. I have many songs that make me happy but will have to admit probably more that make me sad or sentimental.

Didn't we just lose Mary to Leukemia? It's funny how loss can lead to forgotten memories, nostalgia and new found appreciation of the past. The same thing happened to me when MJ passed away. Now my kids are more hooked on his music than I ever was.

That is a cute happy song...just finishing listening to it. At the moment kind of brain fog as to which song or songs make me happy with the exception of "I do believe in Fairies" that's in the 2004 version of Peter Pan...if anything brings out the kid in me...that does. Uh...do you believe in fairies?

Hi dawnald, One of my favourite Songs of theirs is "Puff The Magic Dragon" I like that one. Another favourite which I like to belt out sometimes and I have only just found all the words to it is Rosemary Clooneys "This Ole House". Watchout everybody if it rains over your end because I love this song. Specially now I know the words better. Dusty Springfield is one of my favourites with "It Is´nt The Way That You Talk" she could really belt out some songs that woman. Got loads of favourite Songs some in Spanish they are more recent but I still remember these other ones and sing them out loud when I can.

Hiya, Yes Rosemary Clooney sang this song This Old House is afraid of lightning this old House is afraid of storms. Rosemary Clooney sang for a good many years throughout the United States. Rosemary Clooneys songs were very popular when I was about five or six can´t remember but I do remember that Rosemary Clooney was always on the Radio then with this song this old house and it´s catchy.

I think Claire de Lune gives me a lovely feeling of peace and serenity. I feel quite uplifted when I hear it. I also like Van Morrison's Have I Told You Lately. It reminds me of my ex and he was a great guy in many ways. The song reminds me of the very good times we had. He taught me a lot about enjoying life and being ok doing what I wanted to do without feeling guilty.

Yes.....and it's inspiring...its a country song by Carrie Underwood....I listen to it everyday.....I don't know the title....but it goes.....to all you long shot...dark horse runners...hairbrush singers and dashboard drummers....to all you wild magnolia's just waiting to bloom.....there's a little bit of wonder inside of me and you....making all your crazy dreams come true.. To me it says that you can do or be anything if you don't give up....another line is.....never let a bad day be enough....to go and talk you into giving up... So I like to listen to it for inspiration and it makes me smile and do a jig!
