Tornado is Missing

My mom and I went grocery shopping today. We were running low on supplies and cat food. We were gone most of the day and when we got home it was raining very hard. But Tornado was not around to greet us. I figured that by the time I set out their food bowl, he would show up. But he wasn't around when I set out their food bowl. since we got home at around six P.M. I said that he would just probably show up and cry at the back door for food. But by ten, he still hasn't showed up. I have gone out and searched for him, but I can't find him. :( I hope he shows up tonight. I can hear Spot his mom calling out to him. I only hope that he is somewhere safe.

hello anne25penn. I am so sorry about your kitten, did you get him back?? this discussion is almost a week now. you know the problem of kittens leaving the house. One, they get lost until a kid picks them up; number two, they get stolen. make sure you don't let your cats leave the house...at all cost

I did get him back. His mom Spot led me to him because he was in an abandoned dog cage a few houses away. Some kids must have left him in there. Thank you for your response.

I am so sorry, we lost our kitty of ten years. We let him out in the evening to take care of business and he never came back. He was our child's first kitty and they loved each other. They went everywhere together. It was so hard to go through that. I do hope he comes home and soon and in good shape. Our pets are so much a part of our lives. They are an integral part of our families.

I am so happy for you and Tornado. We do not let our cats out unless they are on a leash and we are with them. The animal shelter made us sign a paper that we would keep a cat pan in the house for them and never let them out unless they were on a leash and we were there with them. Even though we live in a city, we have coyotes outside and people also hurt animals. Even the sheep in the outlying areas are not safe. They are tended by donkeys to protect them. Whatever the reason for letting your tornado out, I am glad you are united. I wish we lived in a safer world. I do not live in fear but was surprised when even the cat shelter stressed this point as cats were always free to enjoy the outdoors while I was growing up.

hi anne hope by now you have got your Tornado back, so sad when one's cat or kitten goes missing. Must be really upsetting when his mom is also crying out for him.so do hope you get him back all safe and sound.

I didn't expect Tornado to be a cat's name, but I hope you find him. I love cats! Maybe someone took him in and didn't let him back out. Someone else on here had that happen and their cat returned a few days later unhurt and healthy. I hope this is what happened to your cat as well since I just saw that you posted this several years ago.
