Changing or Maintaining Avatars, what's the Deal??

I don't know if you're aware but when i came back almost three months ago there was no such activity in the users which regard to changing avatars but i only see a very few people change it.
maybe it wasn't the click back then.
but all that change when the Smiley Mania began to rise up and one of the oldies became a rising Star because of her adopted children
. then her best adopted children introduce more little guys, sadly he said he will be departing us soon, hope not..
AS for me, despite of the changing smileys from other users, i prefer to have a change in my avatars because for me the deal is that i wanna make a point that am always online and active..those who are retaining theirs, probably it's a legacy thing i think

It wasn't my fault 
I didn't make any suggestions whatsoever to anyone at all, honest.
When I met a few new users who were much younger than me and they started calling me 'Aunt D' it was them who decided to change and get something similar to mine.
You haven't even seen a lot of the family yet because they are away but when they come back... you won't know what hit you!

Oh I'm embarrassed.. My avatar is already ancient..
I've always planned to change my avatar but when I get online here I always forget. I am still finding a nice avatar to replace this ancient

There's no way you don't have to be embarrassment, as long as your here and represent on your-self in mylot that's okay, it's just a habit of changing avatars here and there.. wow, if you're planning for a new look i might not recognized you

Nah, it's not because its a "legacy thing" for me. It's just that I feel I can be identified because of my avatar. Kinda like my "face" online. Sure the avatars give us the option to change "faces" but for me, like in real life, Im happy with the "face" that I have.
It's nice how much one great person can influence a lot of people just with a small gesture dont you think? Though I do utilize the smileys up to its full extent, I just prefer not to make it my "identity". Each to their own I guess.

hello bj, actually that is the cutest face i have ever since in my my-lot life. it's really cute and reflect your character in here in mylot. yeah, i do put the little guys myself, but almost evey one here is already doing the smiley thing i just stuck to my own set of avatars.1 person likes this

hello sweetie. I really don't have the slightest clue why people started changing avatars lately but i believe they want change, and they're going the part where change is for the fun and happiness with other users, sadly not every one is getting what they think they deserve, some are still upset with their discussions. just got home from work. just take time for your movie, have a nice morning

If i buy a lap top, i may come back shortly. I guess, it may take a year.
For smileys,
I like to change the smileys because i like it very much. smileys become common in the myLot now. So, i want to be unique, so changing different smileys every time makes me unique.

I used to change my avatar. I changed it many times in the beginning. But then I found this Fiona one and I felt that she was just so me or vice versa and I decided to keep her. Sometimes changing the avatars can be confusing especially when we are used to one then it gets changed and sometimes we will overlook a discussion because we don't know it was changed or forgot it was. I think me and Fiona will stick together for a long time..

I've seen that avatar since I joined mylot. i believe that's better suits you in your account. well, it does sometimes for me but i can't help it but changed it. i guess it's better to let the avatar stay in one month or so then i 'll do some changes in it. for now i just like to keep changing it when ever i find an interesting one in the net

Hi there LetranKnight. I've been here for more than a year and I've only changed my avatar thrice. I don't want to change it more often for it is one that my friends and regular responders on my discussions distinguishes me. HUGZ always.

yes your right, it's probable a legacy for chief lapu-lapu to remain in mylot. i tried to change this avatar, but i feel something different. even friends who knew me never got used to be me when i changed to a smiley, after the smiley mania. i will remain...

hhmmm. well i change mine every once in a while when i have a mood or if i see something i cant resist displaying. i started out with my own real pic, then noticed lots dont have their real pic and i aint that pretty anyway so then for a long time i kept putting up my dog coco, who is quite pretty sometimes, like now, its just a pic i really like.

Hi Let,
Yes I do see a lot of mily avatars but if users wants to change their avatar often that is up to them but I will never change mind as most of the mylotters knows me by my avatar.

Hello yugasini, and i don't think you should change yours either, no one refuse the look on the baby. well, anonymity is a must here i guess. It's not good disclosing your identity online and you're right about that. some one got in to trouble because his identity was compromise

Hi Letran, I don't think that the people who rushed to my help with avatars the first three times would be too keen on me if I changed it again, it takes hours of careful coaching for me to be able to do it (total techniphobe) so this one is staying up for good now. I should just be grateful I 'm not still a waving little man.

, sorry, dropped off their as my thoughts overwhelmed me with boredom. Anything technical bores me rigid I'm afraid. I must give due warning that when I can muster enough interest to once again work out how to charge the camera I will be needed a change of avatar interest in Greek life style, and am clueless. It even took Mike a while to get the last one in so daren't let him know it's going to need changing.
Volunteers who can speak in simple English without using technical terms will be most welcome when this rigidly boring moment arrives.

hello thea, wow really i didn't know that avatars can be that complicated on your part. but in my case i too wanted to changed my avatar again into a GIF animated thing, which is hard to do because i couldn't find the right program to check to convert parts of my video into gif pic.

I just changed my avatar today and I'm having trouble recognising myself as I'm still used to my old one
But I personally think that everyone should just have one unique avatar so it's easy to identify you if you happen to be on my friend's list. Switching avatars frequently shows that you're not a very stable person.. that's just my view anyway

Aside from making the background of my avatar black instead of white, I've only ever changed my avatar completely the one time and it lasted all of 2 days! I just didn't feel right having a different one, so I changed it back pretty quickly. Others may disagree, but for me, my avatar is an instant identifier and seeing as I've used it for 3 years or so now, I can't bring myself to ever change it again. Each to their own though!

i just changed mine. TADA!. its a picture of my three daugthers at yoshinoya waiting for their meal. i like how the photo capture their hungry faces and expecting to have a great meal. i change avatar for the reason that i am getting bored to look at my avatar when i am kind of getting used to it. and when i see a cool photo or if i see a good shot i do want to change my avatar. matbe next week i will change it again. i got cool key chains that i want to take photos of. your point of changing avatar to tell mylot world that you are online and active is a good point.

that is one of the good reasons why I kept changing the avatar, because i tend to find some new cool photos not only in the internet but also in my sims 2 game. are those your children? they're so Lovely, most specially when they're hungry, i just can't stop changing my damn avatar

Yes, I keep seeing a different you here. It seems it has become habitual or a hobby for you changing avatar with each new discussion you start. I only change my avatar when the need arises since our avatars has become our trademark of sort here and changing it frequently may confuse others. The trend with the smiley avatar has hit mylot by storm and you can see how this yellow little creature has become so popular here that it has almost flooded the screen with its popular yellow color. Unfortunately the shocking announcement by one big fan of this smiley has put a dent on the popularity as he seems to be a greet follower of the trend setter of this smiley. I hope that he will reverse his decision and stay put as he is a jolly good fellow.

I have only changed my avatar once and at this point have no real desire to change it again. The original avatar I had when I joined was that of a Buddha which is the picture which represents my blog. It got confusing because some people thought I was a making a Buddhist statement and, although I like the picture, I am not a Buddhist and a lot of what I was saying here contradicted my avatar so I decided to change it to a picture of my favourite animal!

I change my avatar every couple months, usually with the changing seasons...unless I find one that I absolutely love and think it is me --until then I will continue to change mine. You are right, it shows that we are active and constantly looking to upgrade!!
