When choosing recipes, are you more interested in low fat or the full flavor cooked with high fats, cheeses, butters. oils, etc. The idea came to mind as I have some homemade Pasta Alfredo I made the other night for dinner using butter, parmesan and romano cheese, and whipping cream. It has to be 50 grams of fat per serving, but it is delcious and I have not found a recipe that tastes this good that is lower in fat. I am not too concerned with high fat in certain dishes, although other dishes I am interested in trying lower fat options.

I choose to cook as low-fat as possible for our family. There are many reasons that I choose to cook this way. The most important for me is because my side of the family has a history of heart disease that took my grandfather and my father at a very young age. I want to do everything that I can to ensure that my children will have much longer lives than their forefathers. The other reason that I choose to cook low-fat is because I am overweight and trying to change that. I've made small tweaks to my recipes that don't affect the flavor of them but cut out a lot of the fat.

Maybe I appeared too unhealth-concious when I made this topic. LOL I do enjoy cooking low fat foods too, as some are actually very good, and elimating unnecssary fat is good for the most part. But I don't eliminate good tasting foods to save on fat. I enjoy my fried foods once in a while and that will never change.

My husband is a food genius!! I don't know how he does it, but somehow he manages to be able to cook low-fat, and flavourful food at the same time. He's absolutely brilliant!!

Well then maybe we should start a new topic about your hubby's dishes, as they would probably be quite popular on here! I am always looking for new recipes, as many members are in here. Is he the prominent cook in the household or do you share tasks?

It depends what wins the fight, the pro healhty thoughts in my lose weight diet, or the taste buds, or more the saliva juices and nose. I won't say who usually wins, but the waste is fighting a losing battle.
