Hi Friends, Thanks for stopping by. I was just wondering if you've ever taken the time to tell your parents thanks for giving you life or thanks for giving you brothers and sisters. I think that most of us never really thing about it but if we have been given brothers and sisters in life, we are really fortunate because those siblings are people that will always be a a part of our lives that we can feel a strong connection with. Hopefully we can turn to them if we have a problem. I just started thinking about it the other day and I thought how wonderful my life has been because I had so many brothers and sisters to make me laugh as well as to learn and to grow with.Hope that you feel a close connection with your siblings too. As these are some of the most important relationships in our lives. Or at least they should be. Please feel free to leave your comments and share your thoughts. Happy mylot everybody.

Hi Citychic! Thank you for bringing up this topic. I noticed I have never thanked my parents for everything that they have given me. I'm gonna do so every single day now. I have gone thru the hardest times when my ex-husband left me and my baby for another woman with all my savings and left me with a huge debt. All this while, I had my parents to support me financially and emotionally. They have done everything for me and I have not even thank them once. I suddenly feel so bad. I'm currently making up to them by being a better person! Thanks again for bringing up this topic!!

I have thanked my parents for cleaning up their lives to become better parents. But truth be told growing up they were terrible. I was the parent in the house at 9 years old raising my brother and sister. My parents were abusive, violent, mean and neglectful. So no, I don't thank them for that. I do thank them for finally realizing when I was 14 that they were losing their family and their kids and they both got sober.

Thank you for reminding me that I have parents who love me so much that they decided to give me siblings. My family is not the expressive type and it is not our habit to say I love to our mother, but we show her in other ways. When we go out and find something that she likes, we usually buy it for her. my brothers and I go out of our way to accommodate her wishes. My brothers are particularly sweet, taking the time to prepare her food every mealtime, and making sure that somebody is with her at all times, 24/7. She knows that we love her and appreciates our actions. I know that because she tells her friends all the time how we spoil her.

How many of you were there Citychic? In our family, we have five children - two boys and three girls. We have remained very close through the years - even to the point of everyone relocating to the same city/state across the US. My siblings as well as my parents are the people with whom I am the closest in my life, apart from my husband and children. They know the most about me, and we make every effort to share feelings openly between us all. The people who are part of our lives are the ones who most challenge us, the ones who laugh with us and inspire us. They are our mirrors, teaching us about ourselves. Our first relationship experiences come from our siblings/parents...and so they also help to form the ways in which we connect with others, even our mates and children. I am so very grateful to have a family that remains close. And yes, to answer your question, I have thanked my parents and all of my family for the commitment we continue to make toward each other's well being and growth.

we are not so open and intimate in our family. we just show our love through our actions. we barely express ourselves through words.

Dear friend, I could see that for my parents saying thanks compared to what they have given me much less. As for me I could not find any alternative to give back to them compared to their affection and support that I have received from them.

Yes I have, and continue to do so, even though I've lost my mother. Without the, I would have been a nobody and its their warmth and care that has made me what I am today. This is the case with everyone here I guess.

I have thanked my mother a lot for everything that she has done for me. Some of the specific things that I have thanked her for are for giving me life. For my brother and my sister. For all of the help and support that she has always given to us. My mother is a spectacular person because she raised three children as a widow and always supported all of our endeavors. She is the person that I think is the strongest person that I know and I thank her also for teaching me to be a stronger woman.

life is really short that we had to do the things we might be loosing in the near future. giving thanks to our parents is the most importnant one. we as children of our parents are very lucky given a chance to live. although the kind of life given to us is not as wonderful as in other. we as an individual are made unique. so live life to the fullest!

This may sound cheesy but I thank my parents everyday through my simple actions, like being a good daughter, taking care of them, etc. During special ocassions, I sometimes get the chance to thank them, especially during graduation and during their birthdays wherein I give them thank-you cards. I am really not vocal on what I feel, I just try to write it down.

I call my mother regularly just to say I love you and to thank her for raising me so well. I love to call her first thing in the morning and just tell her to have a happy day. She has always been so much to me and I try each to to show her how much I care. My father passed away 10 years ago now and I will not regret my times of not telling him how I cared. I will just pass those feelings on and tell those I love on this Earth each day.

I was very fortunate to have my siblings. Well, I haven't thought of thanking my parents until I read this post of yours. I think I should, yes I should thank my parents for my wonderful siblings.
