Does anybody else get lower back pain with PMS?

It's the oddest thing for me. It is usually much worse if I exercise. I ran 8 miles today and I can barely walk. This only happens right before my period. I have endometriosis, so that may be it. Does anybody else experience this? PMS + exercise = debilitating back pain?

i used to when i was younger. but not anymore. i think it stopped when i started taking yoga and pilates. it strengthened my lower back and posture since i had a bad posture anyway. and, when you have your period and your are bloated and uncomfortable, it also helps to lie on your back, on a hard floor, and put your legs up on something, like couch or table and stool. make sure your legs are straight and out and slanted up. and your lower back is planted firmly to the floor. and relax. it has always helped me. it relieves the pressure off your lower back. also, try to strengthen your abdominal muscles. that will also help relieve lower back pain and problems.

I don't get PMS, I don't get my monthly's anymore (menopause). I agree that you need to strengthen your lower back and abdominals. Yoga, pilates, tai chi, all of those will help greatly. Good advice fifileigh.

I don't get that, but you are definitely not alone. I know many women who have this issue...and I bet you're right, your endometriosis makes it worse. Check with your doctor first, but if you are not already taking it, Vitamin E can do wonders for symptoms involving women's PMS and menstrual periods. It helps me greatly, and I know lots of doctors recommend it for women with endometriosis. I hope you feel better soon!

I actually the week before my period have to limit my sodium, it is horrible if I eat too much of it. My lower back kills me. I also started doing yoga everyday to help that and it really does. I also stop eating so much dariy before then too it makes pms really bad. So just be very careful with what you eat! I know your pain honey. 8 mile run? Thats amazing! You go girl!
