When Protesters Have a Slow Weekend...

they protest against Glenn Beck. I assume they are protesting somebody daring to have and communicate an opinion different from theirs. Doesn't it come across as petty? I mean, Glenn Beck gets paid to express his thoughts. He does it well and has many viewers.I don't agree with what Kanye West, Rosie O'Donnel, or Keith Oberman say most of the time, but I'm not going to stand outside their appearances and tell their fans to 'save your souls, don't go inside!'. Is protesting by the lefty liberals so flippant nowadays? Will they protest because TGI Friday's changed the cheddar cheese on their cheeseburgers? It reminds me of the previous 2 decades when the Baptists would boycott stuff, like, all the time. Don't get me wrong I believe everyone has the right to protest and boycott, and all the other venues of expression. I am just amazed when it is applied to something like a difference of opinion instead of, let's say, the erosion of our individual liberties, expansion of the central gov't, etc. In my opinion, policies are good solid targets to protest. I wonder if that will draw a protester to my lawn. Nowadays we got protesters protesting protesters. Hhhmmmm...

I agree. I'm all for the right to protest, but taking to the streets over someone simply because you don't like their opinion is going off the deep end -- no matter who's doing it. But that's just the tone of the American left mainstream. I haven't heard condemnation one of those protestors who pushed dumpsters into cars and fences and threw rocks through windows the other day. Those protestors were, for all intents and purposes, legitimate enemies of American freedom (as they're protesting against capitalism and promoting total government control), yet we will agree, I'm sure, that they have EVERY right to protest. But not to smash sh1t! Jeez. You wouldn't want to protest outside of Olbermann's, anyway. He'd run downstairs with his OFFICIAL(!!!) Cornell degree and berate the entire audience for not attending an Ivy League school. And if you did, he would make sure to tell you Cornell is better, so neener! Part of the reason this Tea Party (or whatever you want to call it) movement is so captivating is because most of these people aren't people that would usually be found at your local, everyday protest. A lot of protestors on the left, however, show up at 6am to protest for women's rights at a recently-shut-down late-term abortion clinic, then make the 10am protest for saving the smelt while exterminating 40,000 farmers, then they manage to arrive just in time for the noon climate change gathering, protesting everything from oil to your mama, and after that, they're still fresh enough to make it to the candlelight vigil to protest over a mass serial killer being executed. Busy schedule. It's no surprise to me they protest Beck. That's only one of a dozen they'll be attending throughout the week.

Don't be amazed. They're not protesting Beck's difference of opinion, they're afraid more people will start believing him and that would jeopardize their positions (money and power). I agree that it seems tacky and naive to do things like this, but maybe we should starting fighting fire with fire. Anyone up for a demonstration against Rosie O'Donnell?

There are fanatics on both sides but I've noticed that most times when conservatives, independents, or logical thinkers protest, they are protesting issues and policies, which is what it should be. On the other hand when the lefties protest or speak out, they make it personal and attack the person directly. They did it with Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber and now they're doing it with Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly and basically whoever doesn't happen to agree with their view. It's ironic that the so called "party of tolerance" can't seem to tolerate anyone that doesn't agree with them. I don't worry about them very much though. Most of them make fools out of themselves by their actions and words anyway and Olbermann and O'Donnell are prime examples. My reaction is to boycott them along with a few other famous fools including Sean Penn, and the networks that they appear on or the movies that they are in. Just my little gesture of protest. [;-)
