Do you think that all the recent earthquakes and typhoons are interrelated?

Not Rihanna, just a woman with umbrella - While the rain in the form of typhoons are pounding countries in the South Pacific, Surrey, a suburb of Vancouver in British Columbia, is experiencing sporadic rains. This, however, is to be expected in Vancouver, which, near the Pacific Ocean is often battered by excessive rain. So an umbrella is like gold here.

Beach countries have been recently attacked by nature, wreaking havoc on these countries' citizenry as well as tourist beachcombers. It almost seems like Mother Nature has a score to settle with tourism and the affluent lifestyle. Typhoons in Southeast Asia have killed 32 in Vietnam and 246 in the Philippines according to the Reuters news agency. Meanwhile, Ground Report, a citizen journalism hub on the Web, reports that a tsunami hit Samoa this morning, setting off warnings in other coastal areas in the Pacific. Another Reuters report claims 75 people are dead as a result of an earthquake in Indonesia. What's happening to the world? Is God asking us to repent for our sins? Or can everything be explained under the umbrella of global warming or greenhouse gases? Let your voice be heard! What, in your honest opinion, is really happening here?

Well earthquake and typhoon are two different thing. No one could trigger each other. As many says it is an act of God and some says mother nature. I think that is the reality we are having We have abused mother nature and we have to admit that the extreme weather conditions are just the reaction of what we have been doing with our mother earth. When we talk about earthquakes, we really do not have an exact science about it. It just happens because of forces out of our control. I still think that even if man is not around earthquakes would be part of earth's nature. If it is God who made all of this.... no one knows but HIM. I think the important thing about this things happening is to prepare ourselves to any eventualities that may happen. Be prepared spiritually and physically.

probably the only relation they have is that they are happening on earth. also that they are natural occurances. they can both be beautiful and frightening.

Earthquakes and typhoons are natural disasters. If there is an earthquake under the sea it can cause dramatic tidal waves. It was so sad when the tsunami hit my favorite country, Samoa. It was awful when the earthquake hit Indonesia. It was terrible when the typhoons hit South East Asia. When Mother Nature has one disaster other disasters happen at roughly the same time which is very sad.

Yes, I live in the coastal side and the fury of nature is very much felt. The earthquakes and typhoons are absolutely inter-connected. The occurance of Tsunami in the Indian and pacific coast in 2004 was due to the occurance of an earthquake near the Indonesian islands and as a result of it, it resulted in the loss of more than 15,000 lives. Soil erosion along the coastal side is one of the severe problems being faced by us and it may be due to increase in water level due to the temperature rise as an impact of global warming. Yes, we have exploited our Mother nature to a great extent and as a result of which we are reaping the fruit of what we have done to our mother nature and its time we resort to proper and sensible actions before nature destroys us entirely. I thank you very much for starting this discussion and have a very great day ahead. Happy Mylotting. Cheers:-)

Its really alarming to watch calamities happen on tv and it happens almost everyday! I guess this is a wake up call for all of us. here in the philippines, you see cars, properties and most of all lives destroyed by these calamities. this is a reminder to value everything that we have, especially our family and friends, because we dont know what will happen to us. its true, life is short, and we must live our lives to the fullest.
