I have read some things about La Palma and from what I understand it is a volcano off the Canary islands. It is not active right now, but scientists suspect that it will be sometime in the near future. An eruption could cause a giant landslide into the ocean and cause a mega tsunami that will head straight towards the Eastern Seaboard! Has anyone else heard anything about this and is it true? They say it will cause massive damage and loss of life all the way up the coast.

La Palma is one if the Canary Islands and it also a volcano. Some time ago I saw a TV documentary about the possibility of part of the island shearing away along a weakness in the rock and falling into the sea. The program claimed that this had happened before in the distant past and theorised about the consequences of it happening again

I just looked that up and some are saying yes, some are saying that it's a ploy to get funding. Either way, it's a fascinating subject. If they are right, someone should be making a plan of evacuation and if they're wrong, what could it hurt to have an evacuation plan?!
