I have to admit I am disappointed that Chicago was the first voted out of the bid to host the 2016 Olympics. It is now up to Rio and Madrid. Are you upset about this, or does it not realy mean that much to you one way or another? Who do you hope gets it Rio or Madrid.

This result is under expectation. The reason Chicago out due to low supported by the US citizen. Tokyo is one of the best but unfortunately the timing is not right, China just held the 2008 Olympic and therefore it is hard for Japan to held the 2016 Olympic. Rio get strong support from US but their security is worrying people. Madrid has better chance for the 2016 Olympic

Looks like Rio won, I am happy for them, they have tried more than once.

While I think it would have been neat to have the Olympics in the United States again, it really doesn't upset me that much on the other hand. The preparations for the games and having the games in the states themselves would have been wonderful for the economy, but then I also feel like the economy is finally starting to recover on it's own. Between the two cities that are left with bids for the 2016 Summer games, I really hope it is Rio that gets the bid. The only reason that I prefer Rio over Madrid is that I actually have a lot of friends that live in Brazil.

I think it would have been neat to have it hosted in the USA so a little disappointed. I don't really have an opinion on whether I want it to be Rio or Madrid, what about you?

If it was not going to be in Chicago it did not really matter to me. But I know Rio has tried and tried so I am happy for them.

I'm chiming in late but I'm glad that Rio got it, they deserve it.

I feel bad for Chicago. I was really hoping it would be there because we probably would have been able to go. The good thing is I have a friend who lives in Brazil, so he said we could stay at his house to see the Olympics! I don't know if we will or not, but it sure would be neat!

Rio has it apparently all the bids were so good it was difficult to choose, but because south America is the only continent that has never staged the olypics they chose Rio.
