If I have a lot of money the I would be very happy. But is it true that lots of money will guarantee that I will have all the happiness. Some people said if we do not have lots of money then its hard for us to have the happiness in this life. Did money really have an effect on our happiness?

It's depends upon you own perspective about happiness my friend. One cannot survived without money, it is really essential for us to have money. We are all moving and working not because we are already programmed to work but instead we are working for the sake of money. To be practical nobody can enjoy life without the presence of money. Even if you say that love conquers all that's not all Love conquers all with the accompaniment of money. Money can really contribute a great amount of effect with happiness.

All of this is true; however, I have known people that have never had very much money and have been very happy with their lives. As a matter of fact, they have been happier than some individuals who have had money and have never had to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Money is important, we have to pay our bills, we have to buy our groceries, pay mortgages, rent, etc...but money isn't necessarily bring about ones happiness in life. My Mothers' cousin, was a poor woman, widowed early in life and left alone to raise five children on her own, she was such a joyous woman (and her name was Joyce) and she never had a lot of money, but she was one of the sweetest, most endearing woman you could have met.

Thanks Buggles. I do think money can have an effects to our happiness in life but sometimes we did not really need the money to make our life happy as like you said Joyce.

I respect your point of vies my friend but money is also essential in order for us to be happy I'll give you an example a mother has cancer and it requires a big amount of money for her operation now here comes the sons who has money of course a son or a daughter will do whatever they can do produce and amount of money in order for them to survived after all the debts made their mother survived and they are together once again. So for me money and happiness is highly connected with each other.

I do think so cd. Even with a lot of money. That still not guarantee we got all the happiness that we want in this life. Money is just a part of it. But what poor people that live on the street do you think they can have the happiness in their life? Thanks

We need at least a few amount of money to be happy because we live in a system ruled by the money. If you have no money you can't buy good food, have a proper education or even find a job.

Money can never be equal to happiness. Money cannot buy happiness, happiness comes from the relations, surrounding and from inside you feel very happy when you Win something Achieve something Money can be a part of happiness. One formula from my side. Money + Time + Mental peace = Happiness Money is 1/3 of happiness

In the other hand, money can't buy true friends. When you have money everybody needs you but you don't who really loves you.

I dont contribute money to happiness. However, I do contribute money to security and stability which leads me personally to a stress free lifestyle which in turn relates to some of my happiness.

I think money can help bring happiness, but it can only go so far. You can still have happiness without having a lot of money.

Money will never be equal to happiness. Happiness can never be bought. Money can be lost easily but the memories of being happy can last a lifetime.

Money to a certain degree will make you happy. But if you make it your master then you are at your downfall. You have to make the money work for you. Be in control of it. It is not the sole purpose of your existence. Be not a slave of it for it is not going to give you total happiness.

Money can buy you a bit of security..it keeps the wolves from the door, but happiness runs its own course and when present will be there with or without the money.. ENJOY!

People may be happy having lots of money since you can buy a lot of things. But it doesn't guarantee true and forever happiness. Someday, rich people just get tired of their moneys. A lot of rich ones are not even as happy as those people living in poverty. That only proves that money is not equal to happiness.

Money cannot bought happiness, peace of mind and blissful life. These are the things that cannot be bought by money. Only materials things can you bought but aside from that nothing else. Even success in life and you have money lots of money when you go home you feel the emptiness fro within. That is why, whatever my parents has been offered, provided and gave me is nothing before. I can live without those things. I may not find a better job without diploma but I have those precious things that I have never had until I met my husband. A little sacrifices and scarcities yet the happiness, peace of mind and a blissful life is within us. Priceless but means a lot.

money does't mean everything. it's just a "WANT" not a "NEED". i disagree that having a lot of money will guarantee happiness co'z even famous and rich people have still problems. they can buy superficial things but they can't be happy all the time. money can't buy true love, true friends, and a family.

Money is in no way related to happiness. It just creates an illusion of happiness. If money can keep a person happy, i dont see any reason why bill gates would turn to charity and social service.

Money can't buy happiness and money can't buy health. Money is only pieces of paper that has numbers printed on it to exchange for goods and services. Take the value out and these pieces of notes become valueless. Though money is necessary in life but definitely it won't bring in happiness. Though lack of it can bring miseries in life but we can't think of money as our source of happiness. Don't make money our master but let it be our servant to work for us so we are always in control of money and that should not make us regard money is our source of our happiness.

although money can bring us some kind of happiness in this life, there's still many things that money can't buy... and most of the time, things that money can buy just give us happiness for a short period of time for it is easy to lose...

On the contrary having a lot of money will increase your tension regarding how to retain it.You will have to arrange for security for yourself and the money. That will entail massive spending.Again you shall have sleepless nights thinking about your money and its safety. There I go again, I am talking as if I have a lot of the green stuff. Its just a pipe dream. If I really do have loads of money will I be actually able to tell you how I feel- happy or otherwise.

As a chinese proverb say:'People do their best to earn money when they are young and regardless of health. But when they become old, they would pay a lot of money for their health. So a lot of money doesn't mean happiness.I think if your life goal is makeing your friends and family happy, you will be a happy guy.

Of course money is equal to happiness.I think on one could give a standard about how much money means happy.Maybe you will say the more money you have, the more happiness your have.So how happiness you are is depending on how much money could make you afford a happy life that you expect.

Hi andydan, I agree with you. Its all depends on us to decide how money can affect our happiness in life. Its true without money life is miserable but sometime with too much money life seems losing its soul. Maybe what I say just based on what I see on media but its a good example that we also can learn.
