You may have heard of such a situation: a girl is truly in love with her teacher though most people think it as a crush. Yes, nowadays, there are some students who are falling in love with their teachers. So, what is your opinion on this problem? As far as I know, students and teachers won't have the brightest of futures even if they do end up together. Students falling in love with their teachers can really get hurted at last.

This happened to me... And proud of it... But guess what? We ended up marrying each other! I was her music teacher for more than five years, we grew up being great friends, being fond of each other and we started seeing each other... Then one day it just occurred to me that my student now was a lady! She grew up, we grew up.. Then we started dating then giving her the big question... She said yes of course.. at first her parents were hesitant, but they knew me... Well, it took both of us to be together for more than 8 years after finally getting married... I'm older than her by 4 years...

hi gerbrowser, you remind me one of my university roomate. She fell love in one of her secondnary school teacher! And they started their relationship when the gril went to university and broke up when the girl graduated! They had feeling for each other since the beginning they met! At that time,he was a young teacher and she is just little girl! He is 7 years older than her.To be honest, I can not understand how an adult teacher has some feeling for a little girl! But they did nothing and said nothing until the girl started her university! They hide their relationship to their family and friends. In our traditonal country,it is hard for people to accept this kind of thing! But in the end, they broke up for some other reason!

Yes, in our country where lots of people are conservative, it is hard for us to accept teacher-student love relationship.

I think it is wrong unless the student is an adult college student then I guess it would not be so bad as the both the teacher and the student would be adults. By adult I don't mean 18 or 19 I mean an adult going to college a little later in life. As for highschool students and teachers that is not right at all, and it is not too smart for teen college studens either. It is not a good idea for the student or the teacher.

Yes, in most high schools, students and teachers are not proper at all for the gap of age.

Dear getbrowser, Generally, student at lower secondary school tend to fall in love with their teachers. I think that is the vulnerable age where they begin to experience liking and crush. Teachers being a role model and 'matured in personality' make them look good and confident. Overall, I think it is not advisable and not healthy in educational 'Teacher-student' relationship! However, I have an ex-classmate 'fell' in love with the young and active trainee teacher. Many said that it is the teacher who likes her as she is very brilliant and pretty/sweet looking. She just taking advantage as the teacher can guide and give her some tips for the Science subject. They always on motorbike together in the evenings and weekends. At the end the girl left to other school and the teacher left after the training. Perhaps this is 'crush'. I have a cousin who fell in love with her lecturer. Married to him and have 2 children, living happily now Thanks and take care!

This happen to me. In fact I am a teacher and my student is a man. He likes me but I pretend there is nothing wrong. So, I ignore him. But, I incidentally see him when he stares at me and find myself in agony. Anyway, his age is older than me. But, I think relation like this is not professional..so I stick to the rule I am a teacher and he is my student.. no emotional bounding like romantic love.

I think there really nothing wrong with it if the student is in the right age and the don't have much age gaps like the teacher is 6 to 10 years older to the student. Anyways I think it is really not allowed if the student is just an elementary or a high-school student. But then.. to all the teachers and student out there always if you can find a way to evade from this kind of relationship. I can say that it is much better to evade form this than to take the consequences. But if you really like each other then wait for the right time..

I actually know of couples who used to have a teacher-student relationship and the marriage worked out well. It was pretty turbulent at the start and it was difficult especially for the teacher. As if she lost the respect of other teachers and the student body as a whole. But time quickly passed that people graduate and the heated news about their marriage became a thing of the past that nobody even mentions. It's never easy but it's not impossible. It's not a ideal situation but they do love each other and their love stood the test of time. have fun

I don't agree but if both teacher and student are of age, then I don't say why it shouldn't happen as long as it's what both persons envolved desire for them. We shouldn't forget there are still many people who are still just students and way past their legal age of consent.

really saying when you fall in love with teacher at that case becomes complicated i agree that people says that there is no age to fall in love and its correct and old man can fall in love with young one but see age difference matters a lot in the case when you are at initial stage of love with teacher because she may like some of her age and she may have boyfriend of her age or group so why she will pay attention towards you and this relation is not acceptable easily as teacher is treated like god so she will also hesitate to maintain relation with you who is smaller than her so in my view this relation can take time or even cannot exist as it has many problem that i told you above.

student teacher relationships should not occur in high school because not only is that on the verge of paedophilia but also there would be biasing of grades and favouritism towards that student which would give that person an unfair advantage to the other students. A similar thing happened on American Idol where one of the judges helped out one of the contestants and that was pretty much rigging it. As long as nothing besides their private personal lives are involved when lecturers and students are in university or college then I see that as no problem at all.

We cannot avoid such happen, my friend. Because it is the idea of every body. We all have the feeling goes into fall in love. You are right there are student fall in love to their teacher. Even do they that some of the teachers have wife or husband. There is no wrong being in love to a teacher unless that teacher is single. But some school most catholic school have a strict rule on that matter. They are prohibited the relationship of student and their teacher. But for me, their is no wrong unless they are both free to do so...

Hi there,..here we are talking bout love between student and her teacher, and if it's all about adult love, i dont think its a problem. I think its reality, man and woman are falling in love.Love is universal, It does not choose what or where, or when , it just happens. Thanks friend happy mylotting and have a nice day

it is a fact that this happens, not just once nor twice. feelings are involuntary actions and they just prop up at any given situation. nobody plans to be in a relation with a student or teacher, they just feel it. society has its norms and it may be awkward to see such a relationship (especially if there is a big age gap) but can u prevent LOVE?

yes i agree with you. some time hepend in these days because college teachers are young and attract to some one and fall in love. love does not see who is person profession love just hidden in attraction.

I think,it's not proper although some people said that it's about love.Teacher like parent at school. There is some problem could appear especially if their age different to far.Maybe,it could be annoy about their work.Student with her study and teacher with his job.I think, they could make their relation just about sister and brother or children and parent.

Love knows no boundaries and it doesn't recognize barriers. But there are rules to follow in certain institutions, like the school. A student-teacher love affair is a no-no, so if this happens the only way to get on with the relationship is for one of them to get out of that school. Either the teacher resigns and find another school where he can teach, or the student transfers to another school. If it is indeed true love, then both should find a way to make it last, at all cost.

Teacher-student relationship is a big issue in the society. Some think it as immorality. For me, I wont judge anyone whose in that realtionship because everyone have the right to love somebody regardless of the status.

I think we don't have the right to judge the feeling of teacher and student relationship because in neither way we can't understand. Though in school it's really prohibited but judging them gives us no right and I beg to disagree with your statement that they don't have any future if they end-up together, how can you say so? How sure are you that they don't have any future?
6 Oct 09
If the two of them are both old and mature (college), well sure it is ok. But the two of them must still keep professionalism inside the class. Their relationship must be discrete in a way that they do not create any unwanted issues in the school. Bothe of them should know the limitations of their relationship.

Eh... I could understand it happening and actually working if the student was in college, it doesn't really matter how old the teacher is/what they teach. But if them being together conflicts with anyone's learning, I would say no!
