First the Deluge, Now Blackouts

Philippines

In case someone has noticed, I wasn't able to post anything for twenty four hours. This is because I am one of those very lucky residents who live in the eastern part of Metro Manila who has had no electricity since last night. The power company did announce that the blackouts will be done on a rotating schedule, whatever that means. But what I do know is that power was only resumed here in my place at 12 midnight. Power was temporarily resumed this afternoon for about three hours, but I was down with a fever most of the day. I guess its because of the weather why I suddenly got sick. So to add more to the misery of Filipinos, first there was the flood, now this. I wonder if there is a country that I can just transfer to without even applying for a visa?

hello anne25spenn Well, i guess you were lucky enough not to experienced flood, i hope. since you're in metro manila i believed they had that schedule since most areas in manila is still in flood. but it's better as well for you to rest than do anything yet.

yeah. but i'm worried about those people in the northern part of Luzon. Metro Manila is still lucky because it's near the central government and so it will have easy access to all the financial funds and help.

Well that was really terrible experience last night. One good thing was that the weather was quite okay last night that is why we were able to at least sleep for a few hours and then wake up once in a while after feeling a bit discomfort after a while. I guess we have been used to having the electric fat blowing us every now and then to freshen us up. By 2 am power went back and only then we were able to sleep comfortably. I just hope everything will be normalized already. The floods have not subsided in many places and having another crisis after the other is just really unbearable.

Well, there are a lot of countries you can transfer too and will accept you whole heartedly... but the situation there is a lot worst than here in the Philippines... we have just been hit by two very strong typhoons... so these blackouts are but natural... we need weeks and even months to recover so the best we can do is to be patient...
