I thought I would let you guys know about this, because I'm convinced it's another way for people to get confirmation that your email addy is live and active, so that they can bombard your inbox with their c**p! I've received a few emails over the last few days, thanking me for my order, from websites that I've never heard of, let alone visited. I replied to the first one without thinking, to advise them that I hadn't ordered anything from them, and I think they've probably sold my details to others. A couple look like confirmation emails that you receive when you've newly signed up to a site; Subject line will be something like "Welcome to (name of site)", then the mail will contain your "sign up details", e.g. user name and password, and invite you to login to your "new account", even though you've never signed up. Just thought I'd give you a heads up - it's a new one on me, unfortunately I got caught out! Lol!

Louc74 also think about this some of this email stuff is to put a virus in your computer so do not reply to these iff y sounding things as you know what you signed up for and what you did not. so if you did log into your 'new account you would be giving them valuable info so they steal your identity or plug a virus into your computer. I delete all that garbage without ever answering anything. Best to be safe and also have a good anti virus program.

Hi Hatley! You're right, and I'm usually pretty clued up, but I'd never had one like that before - your order is on its way, blah, blah. The first thing I did was run a scan, and luckily it wasn't a virus or anything like that, I think it was just about getting confirmation of my addy, but now I'm looking forward to probably getting loads more! I usually delete everything in my junk folder as well, but these were in my inbox. Itwas first thing in the morning as well - I must have been half asleep! Lol! Thanks for the comment! :)

Hi Louc, I delete everything as junk mail but did open the paypal one, but deleted it before I realised to send it on to Paypal, which I should have done. The ones I glance at as the contents are right on the front of the mails and don't require opening are the windfalls I'm about to recieve. I've been getting less of the inheritance ones recently but more winnings of lottery. I was amused the other day to win the Spanish lottery, with a French directorand a German address.
