Politics here are known to be a very dirty field. A very sad reputation of corruption, abuse of power and authority. Would you be willing to be an agent of change? or just stay from it and live a simple life. Any idea?

Hey there! If I was given the chance, I would enter into politics. It a pretty dirty and dangerous thing to become a beacon of change. Here in the Philippines, people who try to fish out corrupt politicians usually end up being roughed up or sometimes even killed. That's why people here are afraid of fighting against corruption. If I were to become a politician, I would try and fight against that.

Good thinking friend. If we don't stand up and fight corruption in all levels, our country is doomed. Other countries have done it and emerge successful in weeding out corruption, why can't we. enjoy

I'm not sure. I definately do not believe that I would make a very good politician. I am to honest for one thing. Politics definately needs people like me though. I would change a lot of things and it would be for the better. But on the other hand maybe if I went into politics I would become corrupt like most of the other politicians.

If it was the only way to accomplish the changes that needed to be made...then yes, I would join the field of politics. It's just definitely not my first career choice.

no I wouldn't. I just can't trust this field and never meet anyone I can trust working in this field. I am not good at public speaking anyway, so I won't ever be a good candidate. I'd rather do it then talk about it, that goes with a lot of things not only politics.

hello manong05, given a chance why not. i want to serve people the best way i can. not all politicians are corrupt though. most of them for sure but not all. people in power are the one making the politics dirty. for they are destroying one another and worst is that they are corrupt. they forgot everything that they have promised before when they were still running for the position. it's so saddened that people trusted him/her. it's really frustrating sometimes that you don't know whom you are going to believe anymore.

No I don't think I will ever want to join politics. It seems like way to much arguing and bickering with a bunch of people for me. Politics just talk about and discuss ideas about things that really aren't that interesting to me. It seems like everyone in politics is wasting their breath.

I like to live in a simple life as I am living but my mom she is different , she loves to walk in politics and clean it. But i am afraid that its impossible to clean this field instead you become unclean and wash in the blood of innocent people.

I'd love to help out, but I think I can do this without getting into politics. I have high standards of public officials, intelligence-wise, credentials-wise, lifestyle-wise, integrity-wise, commitment-wise, etc. I don't think I'd meet my own standards, lol.

Politics are to messy and I believe unfulling. It would never interest me to get into politics especially because most of the policitians are phoney and I can't deal with phoney people. They smile and promise you the world then turn around and steal and stab you in the back.

i would rather stay away from politics and live a simple life. i don't think i can handle the stressful and rigorous process ... from campaign to "my election", hahaha. i would rather stay aside and be a law-abiding citizen and a conscious voter. that is my little way of helping the nation.

I was given the chance to be the mayor of my hometown i graciously refused and nominated someone i respected. I dont have anything against politics in its self i just feel that people expect too much of one person and forget that politicians are suppose to work together. So when decisions are made the head figure is often the one to blame even though it takes a majority to pass things. Ill do my changing from the outside of the black hole of politics and trust me even then its no simple life.

Definitely, i would join Politics if I get a chance. It attracts me more than anything else. I think that I understan my responsibilities. i have grown up in a very political environment nad this might be a reason for this love. I think that, and it is truth, no country is perfect , even the United States. Corruption stands and exists averywhere and it is our duty towards our country to make her free from any type of wrong. i have seen the problems existing in my country and have faced a lot too and so I understand the meaning of Development and Betterment.

It's money and power that makes politics dirty. If given the chance I would join politics but as the saying goes "if you can't break them, join them" which is whats happening even to the ideal once as time goes by. Given the Philippine setting, it's the Filipinos who are primarily at fault on the type of politics we're in. We easily forgive and forget to the point that corruption is becoming a low risk business. Besides, we are more showbiz oriented that we tend to look up at our politicians as celebrities rather than the people who are supposed to serve us. But who is to blame when majority of the people worry more on where to get their next meal rather than find time go over a politician's track record.

No way for now. Maybe in the future when the "culture" of politics have changed. Back in my younger years, I had been a Leader of our local Youth Organization put-up by the Government (Kabataang Barangay). Even in this level of Government, the corruption is rampant. Putting up a new basketball ring on our basketball court will require large amount of money in the budget. Let's say a ring will cost only 100 pesos each in a local shop. The budget allocation reaches up to a few thousand pesos. To much corruption I say.
